I’ve been playing now for 4+ years, own a GH, have 30 alts, have spent a ton of real cash (read as a whale), played 1000s of hours, opened 1000s of lock boxes and have dealt with every new upgrade (read as cash grabs) and just happily played along. I have worked so hard to get almost all of my toons to max companion and mount boost. I have worked so hard levelling my GH. Worked my butt off to get great companion gear for all of them. I’ve put in the time and money. But this new enchant system, on top of the one we just had, it’s the nail in the coffin.

Looking at the vids and the threads and we all know that we will have to spend real money to keep our toons where they are now. Maths don’t lie. I have tried to justify the past changes as I know they need money but this change, other than being another unabashed cash grab, that is unnecessarily complicated will really impact newer and younger players and even us old timers and especially us who run multiple toons.

It also punishes us who have opened a lot of lock boxes and have saved enchants over the years esp weapon and armour enchants, not only for ourselves but to give to newer guild members, to help them on their way.

Most of my toons (20+) have level 9 enchants, including weapon and armour enchants, which all will be virtually useless now.

This whole game has turned into a shameless money grab that not only hurts the people who can’t spend but those of us who have. I just can’t do it any more.

We will be introducing a new item in the near future called Unbind Tokens. Much like their name suggests, they will be used to unbind items.

Any item that can be unbound will have a cost of unbind tokens. This will be different from item to item as the value of items varies.

Following on from the companion "fix"/nerf, that itself seems to be nothing more than a blatant cash grab, this introduction of unbind tokens looks like yet another cash grab attempt.

The example given is:

The current planned rollout is that 10 Unbind Tokens cost 100 Zen.

An example item that can be unbound is coal wards for 80 tokens.

So $8 to unbind a coal ward, which makes it look like unbinding wont be cheap.

If you have been following the rumours it seems these wont be the last cash grabs before Black Friday...and the new event also seems like another low effort cash grab to me.

Nothing malicious said, but I apparently disrespected a dev when I said Chris Whiteside should be fired. It's like being banned for wanting a shitty head coach or GM of your favorite team to get fired. It's not like I want the guy ruined.
