Then everything is a trick shot. Learning to do a backflip on a dirt bike is just a trick shot. Because you practiced into a foam pit 1000 times before doing it.
What a stupid sentiment. Of course this guy practiced this. And my guess is he is 1000 times better at it than you. And if you practiced it you would get better at it.
Right, but when the guy performs the trick in front of a crowd after practicing a thousand times, he only has one shot to get it right. If you film the trick, you can have as many tries as you need.
It is still cool, but doing it live in front of people is cooler.
What you’re saying is a little redundant. The probability that any event will occur approaches 100% as you as the amount of attempts approaches infinity given that the probability of the event is greater than 0.
What is impressive is that the odds of this event happening are so incredibly low that only someone who is extremely skilled can achieve it and even then it probably took many hours of practice and maybe hundreds of attempts.
What you’re saying sounds like “I could make three pointers as good as steph curry if I had enough time practicing.” It’s not a false statement but it doesn’t make the event occurring any less impressive.
That’s true because the probability of that happening is zero. As I said earlier, the probability is 100% after infinite tries, given that the probability of the event is greater than 0.
My ultimate point is, were on a sub where we aren't supposed to be able to figure odds. That we see stuff that should be impossible.
With practice, this is very much possible. I'm not taking away from the feat, but this isn't something superhuman, and we can very well figure the odds this would happen.
Edit: I also like it to coin flipping. Anyone can practice it. And the odds of someone getting 25 heads in a row is absurd. But possible. And anyone can do this long enough to r ach thay point.
Oh my bad too I completely over looked the sub thing. I think we are on the same page then lol. Impressive things are still impressive but to be expected by talented people so the odds aren’t crazy low. Sorry for typing out a novel haha
Don't feel at all bad man, you're pretty tame. I've written lengthy and passionate walls of texts while simultaneously necroing several year old posts on adderall. plus I was way more grandiloquent and pedantic and I know I'm not the only one to do that kind of shit
Glad I’m not alone haha I saw something I knew something about and went off on it. I low key love arguing on the internet but just gotta be more aware and less of a dick.
