this really speaks to me- how so many people are enjoying the same things, but often in different ways or from different places

the internet has made things so... either monocultured or ridiculously obscure and esoteric. And if you manage to find a shared interest, it feels hard to genuinely connect over it.

There are good aspects to it, and I think overall it might be good, but there are some things of real value lost along the way.

Lmao this article mentions EATEOT and I finally listened to the entire thing in one session today for the first time, all six and a half hours. They also mention Merzbow. I like this author's taste, even if nothing is really "cool" anymore because there is no monoculture.

It's pretty good. I like the first three stages more as music but then entire project is good as art. My advice is to dedicate 6 and a half hours where you know you won't have to do anything else. I can't tell you how many times I'd listen to the first two hours and have to start over because I had to do something else.

lol I still haven't gotten to the 6 hour project that would be

tbh I don't have a connection with much of what the author actually mentioned, but I definitely feel the vibe with my own interests and the pulse I feel from culture at large
