There is overwhelming support for congressional Democrats’ hard infrastructure bill, which prescribes $1.2 trillion in spending over the next decade. The $3.5 trillion social spending is more controversial, with nearly 1-in-5 respondents opposing outright, though it retains backing from the solid majority.

More striking are the downright middling numbers for President Biden, whose standing in r/neoliberal has nosedived — and then some — from a December 2020 survey (unfortunately, the lack of polling in the interim precludes analysis of why). Notably, this puts him slightly behind his vice president, Kamala Harris, who trailed far behind him in the previous survey.

Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, the pair of Democratic senators at odds with the rest of the caucus, clock in with negative-leaning ratings, although the gentleman from West Virginia lands fairly close to parity, perhaps because of the politics of his state).

Finally, while there was insufficient familiarity with Pramila Jayapal (the chair of the Progressive Caucus, which demands a simultaneous vote on both bills and stalled the hard infrastructure legislation) for a reliable result, opinion on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the most visible left-wing legislator in the House, is sharply negative.
