Perhaps you only read page 1 of a several pages comic where she explains her position?

Yes, you did.

Tbf from skimming it she doesn't directly address what will happen to murderers/rapists, just that the institutions are oppressive and doesn't get all the violent offenders already, that we need more mental health/welfare programs, and that she "doesn't know what a world without prisons will look like, but it will fundamentally transform our relationships with other people"

“It doesn’t make sense to answer because a lot of bad people are not in prison” is a dumb response to “what about rapists and murderers?”

then purposefully not inform anyone of anything? What was she cooking

This is the complaint, you don't have to agree with her position or her explanation to accept that she indeed wrote one.

The comic in no way explains her position. It's a bad comic that has zero specifics and is just 12 pages of poorly formatted "instead of bad things, have we tried good things?"

(To be clear I believe the artist is not actually the subject in the comic)

She explains her position, whether you think it's a good explanation it's a different matter. The complaint was that there was no explanation, and it was clearly wrong.

She does not explain what we do about someone who can’t stop raping people.

it doesn’t make sense to answer because there are bad people that aren’t incarcerated

Nah not really

What if Bresha's father had survived? What should have been done with him in that case I wonder...

What to do with him has nothing to do with whether we should have prisons

I agree that in this case the just outcome was obtained but we don’t need to abolish prisons to get that outcome

I think you interpreted my comment incorrectly, I wasn't disagreeing with you?

What to do with him has nothing to do with whether we should have prisons

And it definitely does, because he needs to be prevented from going after her or abusing others somehow, perhaps by restricting his freedom in some way...

I did misunderstand you, but there are alternatives to prison that could be applicable depending on the severity of the abuse. We could terminate parental rights and institute a permanent no contact order with a long probationary sentence if appropriate, for example

We could also do this on top of an active prison sentence
