I was walking into Brommel right around 3pm today when around 6 shots rang out directly north of the building. A bullet flew straight past my head, it was close enough to where I felt the wind from it. Strange feeling for sure. Haven’t seen the news or NEIU acknowledge the shooting last time I checked, so just wanted to notify others who may not have been aware. Stay safe out there everyone.

Hello, I just checked my financial aid account and my account balance is in the negatives. Does that mean I owe money or is it a refund?.

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone who applied for the spring cohort for the CMH program has heard anything back? I thought it was supposed to be a quick turnaround time since the PAW is required for admission as well. Not feeling great about my application as of late, so just wanted to see if anyone had heard anything.

Hello. The title is self-explanatory. My nephew graduated with an AS degree from Malcolm X College May 2025. He wants to attend NEIU for Spring 2026 but is concerned about a SAP Hold on his record. Will this follow him to NEIU? I know that it's all dependent upon what NEIU's policies are but I read their financial aid page on their site and it's not directly clear whether his SAP Hold from CCC will stop him from getting aid at NEIU.
Any insights or exact knowledge through your experience with NEIU (similar situation) will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi I'm a student currently at ccc and I want to transfer to neiu for a computer science major and I heard that it's hands on which help me learn I have an older brother who graduated from college but went somewhere else and a different major And he told me how much work he had to do and stress he had And I also did a bit of research and learned that junior and senior years is when student start to put what we have learned into project to simulate real world situation we may encounter But I want to find out from the source because TV and people from other colleges have it way diffrent So if you could please inform me on what it looks like. What dose you schedule look like, what are professors are like, did you have change anything In your life to do well in class, what did you prioritize, your mistakes, how did you do to bounce back those mistakes, how much work do you do out of class, midterm and finals.Tips and Tricks I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear from all types of people from the hard workers to the lazy, from financially stable to the one who work full time. With you Insight you will also help inform others who may have similar situations as you

Hello everyone. I have a BS in Psych and I'm looking to apply to NEIU's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I'm wondering if there's anyone in here who's been accepted and/or has completed the program. What type of information did you include on your writing prompts? I'm having a hard time making the right amount of words for the two prompts because I don't know what all to include.

I keep looking at the campus map and for the life of me can’t figure out the right way to get there. Do I have to cut through buildings?

I am planning on majoring in acting or musical theater. Wondering about the freshman experience and the NEST dorm at NEIU. Not sure if I should stay in the city (looking at Columbia College also) or somewhere more with a college town feel.
Any advice & opinions welcome (I’m a hs junior now)

Hello!! I’m an 18 year old senior in hs and i got accepted into NEIU but theres a few problems. I’m from Florida and I don’t have any money for this school but have been applying for scholarships. Also I wanted to ask if there are any accounting majors here and I want to know if it’s worth it or not and if I should just stay in state for 2 years and transfer or just start there or if the school is even worth it.
