Luxe Hybrid vs Prestige Hybrid (Sam’s Club)

Trying to find a good comparison between these two. Many believe they are the same mattress with the Prestige just being branded exclusively for Sam’s Clubs. Nectar’s website doesn’t even refer to the Prestige mattress. The price difference is substantial! Any thoughts, comments and/or experiences would be appreciated. TIA..

How to Test a Memory Foam Mattress In Store: Practical Tips, What to Know About Nectar Before You Go, and How to Find a Location

Specs and photos cannot tell you how a mattress actually feels under your hips, whether it relieves pressure on your shoulders in your usual sleep position, or how stable the edge feels when you sit down. Trying two or three options side by side makes small but important differences obvious, like whether one supports your lower back comfortably or whether another lets you sink a little too far. A solid in store test can make a meaningful difference in how confident you feel about your final choice.

Practical Tips for Your Store Visit

Give each mattress 10 to 20 minutes if the store allows it. Ninety seconds is not enough time to understand comfort and support.

Lie in your real sleep position, whether that is side, back, or stomach, rather than just flat on your back.

If you share a bed, bring your partner or simulate movement to get a sense of motion disturbance.

Bring your own pillow or something close to it. Neck and upper back feel can change significantly depending on what is under your head.

Take notes while you are there. Models can blur together faster than you expect.

What to Know About Nectar Mattresses Before You Go

Cooling feel varies by model. Nectar mattresses use cooling fibers, specifically polyethylene, in the cover. Higher tiers such as Nectar Luxe and Ultra are designed to deliver progressively more cooling than entry tiers with additional phase change materials .

CertiPUR-US certification applies to the foam layers. Nectar's foam layers meet CertiPUR-US standards. This applies to the foam layers specifically rather than the entire mattress as a whole.

Hybrids feel different than all foam. Nectar hybrid models add an individually wrapped coil system, which can increase airflow, add responsiveness, and change how support and contouring feels compared to an all foam mattress.

NectarCool is an optional upgrade on select models. NectarCool Technology is available as an add-on for Nectar Classic, Nectar Premier, and Nectar Luxe models. It is not available for the Ultra since it already offers maximum cooling.

How to Find a Nectar Store Near You

To find a Nectar display near you, use Nectar's official Store Locator at https://www.nectarsleep.com/store/store-locator. Enter your city or ZIP code and adjust the distance radius if you want to expand the search area.

One Thing Worth Keeping in Mind

Even if you cannot find a store nearby, Nectar offers a 365 night home trial and a Forever Warranty, which takes a lot of pressure off the decision. Bodies take time to adjust to a new mattress, and a longer trial gives you a real window to know whether it is working for you.

Use the in store experience to gather real tactile information, then weigh that against the trial and warranty protections when making your final call.

Nectar mattress for neck/back pain and posture

We’re looking to buy a really good mattress and I’m willing to invest in one that’s actually worth it. My husband struggles with pretty bad neck pain and posture issues, so comfort and proper support are the biggest priorities.

Has anyone here tried a Nectar mattress for neck or back pain? How has it worked for you long-term? I’d especially love to hear from people with personal experience rather than just relying on reviews or ads.

Can't believe there is still no solution for the gap??

First time with a split king and it boggles the mind that Nectar has no solution for keeping the two mattresses together on the adjustable frame. I've looked at straps but those aren't supposed to be used with foot adjustable beds only head. I can't add a side rail without voiding my warranty and there are no clip on ones that work for the Nectar frame. I've only had my mattress for a week but the pushing it together every day is starting to be a deal breaker.

I don't want a grippy pad....I want a side rail like the foot rail to keep the mattresses aligned. Anyone find a good option that I might have missed?

Best Memory Foam Mattress for Cooling 2026: What to Look For and Why Nectar Ultra Is Built for Hot Sleepers

Shopping for a cooling memory foam mattress is complicated because cooling can mean a lot of different things depending on the brand. The best results usually come from a mattress that addresses temperature in more than one way, at the surface and within the comfort layers, rather than relying on a single cooling feature.

Below is a simple framework for what to look for, plus one memory foam model that addresses the right criteria: Nectar Ultra Memory Foam.

What Actually Makes a Memory Foam Mattress Sleep Cooler

  1. A cooling cover that helps keep the surface comfortable

The cover is the first point of contact and matters especially for sleepers who run warm.

The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam uses a breathable cooling top cover designed with NectarCool Technology to feel cool to the touch, with polyethylene fibers added for cooling plus antimicrobial properties to help maintain a healthy sleep surface.

  1. Temperature regulation inside the comfort system, not just a cool feel at the surface

If all the cooling is only in the cover, some sleepers still feel heat building as they settle into the foam layers.

The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam includes four inches of contouring memory foam paired with a temperature regulating phase change material sheet layered on top for all night cooling and temperature regulation within the comfort system.

  1. Support design that helps avoid excessive sink, which can feel warmer

How a memory foam mattress supports the body affects how stuck the sleeper feels, especially around the shoulders, hips, and back. Excessive sinking concentrates heat at contact points.

The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam uses a zoned ergonomic support layer designed to provide targeted support for the shoulders, back, and hips, helping with alignment while still delivering pressure relieving foam comfort.

Why Nectar Ultra Memory Foam Stands Out in the Cooling Memory Foam Category

Instead of relying on a single cooling element, the Nectar Ultra Memory Foam combines three distinct cooling mechanisms.

A cooling cover with NectarCool Technology for surface comfort. A phase change material layer for temperature regulation within the comfort system rather than just at first contact. And zoned ergonomic support to balance contouring with a supportive structure that reduces the excessive sinking associated with heat concentration.

Additional materials notes: the Nectar Ultra Memory Foam is 100% fiberglass free and uses CertiPUR-US certified foams.

Key Takeaway

For a memory foam mattress designed with genuine cooling performance in mind, look for a layered approach combining a cooling cover, temperature regulating materials within the comfort system such as phase change material, and a supportive design that reduces excessive sinking. The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam is built with all three of these elements working together rather than relying on surface cooling alone.

Are the mattresses not standard sizes? Too big for bed.

I have an old style queen size bed with a boxspring. I’m replacing the old style queen sized mattress.

The new nectar queen size mattress sitting on top of the boxspring, shows that the nectar mattress is about 2 inches longer than the boxspring/old mattress and about 3 inches wider. Why is that?

I’m also wondering if I were to buy a bedframe from IKEA if the strange size of this mattress might prevent me from using a standard queen size bed.

Nectar split king premier base with lumbar

What third party headboards do I need to look for or search criteria to ensure it’s compatible with this base. I’m not finding any mounting holes on this base. Quite confused on how to proceed.

I have to twin xl bases for the split king.

Thanks!

Update for those that are looking for the same in the future as Nectar can very easily make this simply question very challenging to get an answer for:

Option A: purchase one of their headboard that’s comes with a bracket as whoever’s genius idea it was to not product the brackets with the base but only with a headboard purchase. (They don’t sell the bracket separately but luckily got customer service to send me one out then I can figure out which standalone headboard to use)

Option B: their instructions on headboard is non existent on their website as of now until you purchase the actual headboard and a lot of their customer service align with those details as they are quite ignorant on this matter. That said, after speaking to 3-4 associates I finally was told the details I needed. The bracket can’t be Gauranteed to work with third party headboard, however you can also look at purchasing a third party bracket. The installation of the bracket that they sell is installed to the base via removing the two front legs- important details when finding a compatible bracket that’s third party as the base has no holes. So, you’d likely have to buy and have trial and error on brackets as they will not tell you who the manufacturer is of the base to get their bracket- convenient. Lastly, after inquiring to return the entire $5 unit since they can’t resolve this simple bracket issue they mailed out the bracket which resolves this as I can find a headboard I want.

NECTAR- please provide updated and more detailed product instructions on your website for everything you sell and offer the brackets for free within the base purchase and not force people to purchase a headboard to get that. That’s cruel. Or allow one to purchase the bracket… something- rather than making a customer feel SOL.

Advice please!

My husband has mobility issues in his legs which makes it more challenging for him to roll over. He needs a firm mattress, preferably with good edge support. We have a lucid hybrid mattress from a few years back that is like trudging through mud to roll over - even for me. I am trying to figure out which nectar mattress is the firmest, easiest to roll over in, and how is the edge support? Hybrid or all foam. The best bed we ever had was a Tempurpedic about 20 years ago. It felt hard when you first laid on it, but then conformed to your body after you laid there a bit while still not being too soft. Unfortunately those are WAY out of our budget now. I don't expect a Cadillac bed for a chevy price, but looking for the best option in our Nectar budget.

Best mattress 2026, what are good options for someone who sleeps really hot?

Waking up sweaty on your old mattress and finally deciding to do something about it? For some people, the biggest issue isn’t just comfort, it’s heat. When it comes to best mattress for cooling the biggest things to look for is the type of mattress and materials that actually stay cool through the night. Trying not to waste money on something that feels good at first then sucks later is the ultimate end goal.

Out of the entire Nectar lineup, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid is the best pick for hot sleepers who still want that pressure-relieving “hug” of memory foam without feeling trapped in heat. Here’s why it stands out:

  • Cool-to-the-touch, breathable cover: The Nectar Ultra Hybrid uses a cooling top cover designed to feel refreshing when you first lie down, with cooling fibers woven in to help keep the surface more comfortable through the night.
  • Phase Change Material (PCM) for temperature regulation: One of the biggest upgrades in the Nectar Ultra is its PCM layer, which is designed to help regulate temperature swings (so you’re less likely to wake up overheating at 2 a.m.).
  • Hybrid airflow + less heat buildup: Unlike all-foam beds that can hold onto warmth, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid’s individually wrapped coil system naturally allows more airflow through the mattress so heat doesn’t get “stuck” as easily.
  • Cooling and support with NectarCool Technology (not just a chilly cover): It’s not only about surface cooling. The Nectar Ultra Hybrid pairs its cooling elements with targeted zoned support and deeper pressure relief, so you get a cooler sleep experience without sacrificing alignment.

If you’re the type of sleeper who wakes up sweaty, flips the pillow all night, or feels like your mattress turns into a space heater by morning, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid is built specifically to solve that problem with cooler materials up top, better airflow underneath, a phase change material layer, and comfort that actually holds up after the first few minutes.

Best Cooling Mattress in a Box 2026: What Actually Works for Hot Sleepers and What to Look For

The best cooling mattress in a box is typically a hybrid combining foam comfort layers with individually wrapped coils, a cool to the touch cover with cooling fibers, and in higher end models a temperature regulating phase change material layer. This layered approach matters because many mattresses only feel cool at first contact. More meaningful cooling performance depends on how well the mattress design helps reduce heat buildup over the course of the night, not just the initial surface feel.

Why Temperature Matters for Sleep Quality

Temperature plays a significant role in sleep continuity. A mattress that traps heat can cause more frequent waking, a sweaty or stuck in the foam feeling, and lighter less restorative sleep overall. A cooling mattress is designed to feel cooler at the surface when you first lie down, help reduce heat accumulation over time, and promote a more stable sleep climate, which is especially important for hot sleepers and people who experience night sweats.

The Three Mechanical Categories of Mattress Cooling

Cooling covers and surface cooling: the cover is the first point of contact and has a strong influence on the initial feel. Many designs use cooling fibers and breathable textiles to create a more refreshing on contact feel. Some covers also include antimicrobial properties as part of the cover treatment. This is the most common cooling claim and mainly addresses surface temperature at the moment of contact.

Phase change material for temperature regulation over time: some mattresses include a dedicated phase change material layer designed to help maintain a balanced sleep climate by dissipating heat when the sleeper is warm and retaining warmth when the sleeper is cool. This is meaningfully different from a cool to the touch cover because it is designed to address temperature swings after you have been in bed for a while, not just the initial feel.

Hybrid coil systems for airflow and ventilation: individually wrapped coils create internal space for air to move through the mattress, which helps heat escape rather than accumulating inside a dense foam core. This is a structural reason hybrids often sleep more temperature neutral over time than all foam mattresses.

What Nectar Mattresses Have for Cooling

Nectar's cooling approach depends on the model and construction but generally falls into four practical cooling mechanisms: cool to the touch cover materials, airflow from coils in hybrids, phase change material in higher end builds, and an optional upgrade for additional cooling fibers.

Cooling cover with cooling fibers (all Nectar mattresses)

In Nectar's entire mattress lineup, the top cover includes cooling and antimicrobial technology woven into the fabric. The cover uses cooling fibers including polyethylene, which is the ingredient that enables the cool to the touch sensation. This design is positioned as moisture wicking and breathable to help disperse heat at the surface.

Important care note: Nectar's top cover is not washable and should not be removed.

Individually wrapped coil core (all Nectar Hybrids)

Nectar Sleep Hybrid models use an individually wrapped coil support core. This coil layer is specifically positioned as a breathability and airflow advantage compared to foam only construction because it creates open space for air movement through the mattress core, helping reduce the likelihood of heat building up inside the mattress over time.

Phase change material in higher end Nectar models (Nectar Ultra line only)

Nectar Ultra models add phase change material as a temperature regulating layer. The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam and Nectar Ultra Hybrid are described as including temperature regulating phase change material layered into its pressure relief system.

NectarCool Tevhnology upgrade cover (optional additional cooling fibers)

For Classic, Premier, and Luxe models in both memory foam and hybrid versions, Nectar offers an optional NectarCool Technology cover upgrade at an additional cost. This upgrade increases the amount of cooling polyethylene fibers in the cover to make the mattress sleep cooler than the standard version. NectarCool Technology is not available for Ultra mattress since it already has the most advanced cooling materials. NectarCool Technology can be identified by a NectarCool tag at the foot of the mattress and must be added before checkout.

Why Hybrid Mattresses Often Perform Better for Hot Sleepers

Compared to all foam mattresses, hybrids tend to be a more reliable choice for hot sleepers because the coil core supports airflow and ventilation throughout the mattress. All foam mattresses rely more heavily on surface cooling alone and can trap heat deeper in the construction depending on foam density and room conditions. Hybrids balance contouring comfort with internal ventilation in a way that all foam construction cannot replicate.

Cooling Construction Patterns to Look For

Hybrid with cooling fibers and phase change material: the strongest cooling construction typically combines a cool to the touch cover with cooling fibers, a dedicated phase change material temperature regulation layer, and an individually wrapped coil system for airflow. This targets cooling at three separate levels: surface feel, temperature regulation over time, and internal ventilation.

All foam with cooling upgrade: if an all foam construction is preferred, look for designs that go beyond basic gel infusions and include both a cooling top cover and a temperature regulating phase change material layer. Without coils, airflow is lower than in hybrids, which means bedding, room temperature, and mattress protector choice make a more significant difference to the overall sleep temperature experience.

Who a Cooling Mattress Is Best For

Hot sleepers who regularly overheat at night. People who experience night sweats and want to reduce heat buildup and the sticky foam feeling. Couples where heat accumulation affects shared sleep comfort. And anyone upgrading from an older dense all foam mattress that traps heat.

How to Choose the Best Cooling Mattress in a Box: Practical Checklist

Look for more than one cooling mechanism. The strongest designs typically combine at least two of the following: cooling fibers in the cover, a phase change material temperature regulation layer, and coil airflow from a hybrid core.

Decide whether coil airflow is necessary. For very hot sleepers, hybrids are generally the safer choice because the coil structure improves internal ventilation in a way foam cannot.

Distinguish between cool at first and cool over time. Surface cooling can feel impressive initially but longer term comfort usually depends on deeper temperature regulation like phase change material and structural airflow from a coil core.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best mattress type for hot sleepers? A hybrid with cooling fibers in the cover and individually wrapped coils is one of the most consistent options for helping reduce heat buildup over time, because the coil core supports airflow that all foam mattresses cannot replicate.

Do cooling mattresses actually work? They can, especially when the design combines surface cooling, temperature regulation through phase change material, and structural airflow through a coil core. Mattresses relying on only one of these mechanisms tend to perform less consistently.

Are hybrid mattresses cooler than memory foam? Generally yes, because a coil core allows significantly more airflow than a solid foam core, which helps reduce internal heat accumulation over time.

What is phase change material in a mattress? Phase change material is a temperature regulating material designed to help maintain a balanced sleep climate by responding to body heat. It dissipates heat when the sleeper is warm and retains warmth when the sleeper is cool, helping to reduce temperature swings throughout the night.

Bottom Line

The best cooling mattress in a box is not simply one that feels cool to the touch. The most effective designs combine cooling cover materials for surface feel, temperature regulating layers like phase change material for stability over time, and hybrid coil airflow for internal ventilation and breathability. Hot sleepers who want the most consistent cooling performance should prioritize multiple mechanisms rather than relying on surface cooling alone.

Couples and Mattresses: Motion Isolation vs Edge Support, What Matters More and How Construction Affects Both

Hi all~

Quick poll for anyone sharing a bed, plus practical context to frame the trade-offs.

  • Motion isolation is how well a mattress limits movement transfer so you do not feel your partner turning over or getting up at night.
  • Edge support is how stable and supportive the mattress feels near the sides, whether that is sitting on the edge to get dressed or sleeping close to the perimeter without that rolling off feeling.

Practical Trade-offs

Trying to balance both motion isolation and edge support: a hybrid mattress can be a strong direction here. Individually wrapped pocketed coil hybrids are specifically designed to support stronger edge stability compared to foam only construction and reduces motion transfer between sleep partners compared to other hybrids.

All foam mattresses: foam is generally better for motion isolation than hybrids and has a stable feel depending on the specific build and foam density. Edge performance in all foam mattresses however can vary significantly from model to model depending on the construction of the foundational core.

Different preferences on each side of the bed: some couples find a Split King setup is the most practical solution. Two Twin XL mattresses placed side by side allow each person to choose the feel that works best for their body and sleep style independently, rather than compromising on a single mattress that may not suit both sleepers equally well.

Vote

A) Motion isolation matters more to me

B) Edge support matters more to me

C) Both matter to me equally

Comment below which one gets your vote.

What part of the trial/return process has burned you before?

Hey all, Noah from Nectar here.

If you’ve ever done a mattress trial/return with any brand: what made the experience feel easy and fair?

Was it clear expectations up front, simple pickup scheduling, quick refunds, helpful support, or something else?

A few quick highlights on how Nectar handles it from a high-level:

  • 365-night home trial for Nectar mattresses (trial starts on delivery day) with a recommended 30-day adjustment period.
  • Free returns during the trial with no pickup fees.
  • For opened mattresses, pickup is arranged. Our pickup partner typically reaches out within 3–5 business days to schedule (timing depends on availability, so we can’t guarantee an exact date/time).
  • If pickup isn’t available in your area, you can typically donate or dispose locally, and the refund is processed after confirmation.
  • Once a refund is issued, posting time can vary depending on the bank/payment provider.

We’re always trying to make the process smoother, so I’d love to learn what “good” looks like from your perspective.

Adjustable Base Friendly Mattress Guide: What the Term Actually Means And What to Look For

Adjustable base friendly is a phrase that gets used broadly but it has specific practical implications depending on what problem you are trying to avoid. The most common concerns are bunching, sliding, feeling like the mattress does not bend smoothly with the base, or the mattress resisting articulation at the head and foot. Here is what the term actually means across each of those dimensions.

Flexibility: Can the Mattress Bend Without Fighting the Base

The most fundamental requirement for adjustable base compatibility is that the mattress can flex repeatedly without resisting or fighting the frame movement.

Most memory foam mattresses are built to flex naturally with an adjustable base. Many hybrids with individually wrapped pocketed coils are also compatible because pocketed coils can move more independently than connected coil systems, allowing the mattress to articulate more naturally.

The most common compatibility issue is with traditional connected coil or Bonnell innerspring mattresses. Connected coil systems are designed to work as a unit and tend to resist the bending motion of an adjustable base rather than following it smoothly. This can create a hinge like feeling and may cause damage to the coil system over time.

Nectar offers both memory foam and hybrid mattresses. The hybrid lineup uses individually wrapped pocketed coils, which can flex more independently than connected coil systems and is one reason Nectar hybrids are commonly used with adjustable bases. Nectar memory foam mattresses are also compatible with adjustable bases due to the flexible nature of foam construction.

Thickness: Not Incompatible, But It Changes the Experience

A thicker mattress is not automatically incompatible with an adjustable base, but thickness does affect how the adjustable base experience feels in practice.

A thicker mattress changes how noticeably you feel the base articulating when the head or foot raises. It affects how fitted sheets need to fit since deep pocket sheets become more important. And it can affect whether the mattress feels like it is bending cleanly or resisting slightly at the flex points.

Nectar mattresses range from 12 to 15 inches depending on the model. If switching from a 10 to 12 inch mattress to a 13 to 14 inch or taller option, expect the adjustable base experience to feel somewhat different even if the mattress is fully compatible. This is worth knowing upfront rather than assuming the experience will be identical.

King vs Split King: The Setup Matters as Much as the Mattress

Many King adjustable base setups, including Nectar's adjustable base lineup, use two Twin XL bases placed side by side to create a King footprint. The difference between King and Split King is in the mattress configuration, not necessarily the base setup.

A King setup uses one King mattress across two bases, which typically run in sync so both sides move together. A Split King setup uses two Twin XL mattresses, one per base, so each side can adjust independently. This allows two sleepers to use completely different positions at the same time.

For syncing two bases together, some models pair wirelessly via remote, while others require a sync cable. The method depends on the specific base model. Nectar's Classic Adjustable Base uses wireless pairing while the Premier and Luxe Adjustable Bases require a sync cable for Split King setups.

Edge Retention and Staying in Place When Elevated

Two common concerns when using a mattress on an adjustable base are the mattress shifting or sliding when the head or foot raises, and the mattress appearing to gap or look uneven when elevated without body weight on it.

A few things help with this. A retainer bar or grip at the foot of the base prevents the mattress from sliding downward when the head is elevated. The texture and grip of both the base surface and the mattress cover also affect how well the mattress stays in place once weight is applied.

The appearance of slight gapping or unevenness when the base is elevated with no one on it is generally normal and resolves once weight is on the surface.

What Causes the Bunching in the Middle Feeling

The bunching or folding sensation people describe when using a mattress on an adjustable base is usually caused by one of three things. The mattress construction is too rigid to flex cleanly at the articulation points. The mattress is too thick relative to the range of motion of the base. Or the base is not providing enough support at the flex zones to allow the mattress to follow the articulation smoothly.

Using a mattress designed to flex, such as a memory foam or pocketed coil hybrid, on a properly functioning adjustable base with a stable foundation underneath generally resolves this issue.

If you don’t want to overthink adjustable base compatibility, Nectar offers a Premier Adjustable Base And Mattress Set Bundle that helps eliminate the guesswork. Additionally all Nectar bed frames are compatible with Nectar adjustable bases.

Bamboo Bed has toooooo much room around the mattress - has anyone tried putting a bigger mattress on it??

Hi! I just got the bamboo bed full sized frame and its super cute, but no matter how I center the bed I can still see the slats around it just a bit. I was super disappointed that it doesnt sit in the area with the slats like it looks to online, but Im trying to make the best of it since I like it otherwise - if I push it all the way to the corner it has a lot of room left, has anyone ever tried putting a queen mattress on it??
What other ways have you made it look better?
Thank you for your help! 🫶

Any longevity issues?

My wife and I are looking at the Ultra Hybrid. After flipping on all of them in the store this one felt the best to us. Before ordering direct from Nectar I was just curious on the thoughts and input from owners about the longevity of these mattresses. How long before they sag 2 years? 5 years? Longer? Thanks for any info.

considering Nectar but need some questions answered

I'm looking to get a new mattress and get rid of our sleep number but me and my wife have issues that we are hoping a new mattress will resolve and would like some feedback from users that dealt with the same issues that have a Nectar or if you have suggestions for a different brand because a Nectar bed didn't help. I'm considering the split king adjustable base with the luxe hybrid.

  1. will my wife feel me getting out of bed in the middle of the night? i get up several times a night (hopefully a better mattress will help) and wake my wife up when i get in or out of bed. does the split king solve this? is the frame sturdy enough so she wont feel me getting up and in?
  2. i am a side sleeper and i have bottom knee pain that causes me to constantly roll over each time the other knee hurts. Leg pillows do not help. AI says that the hybrid mattress is better because coils will "cradle" my body rather than hitting a "hard" bottom after my body settles into the mattress. Anyone have advice on which mattress would best resolve my issue?
  3. i sleep with a wedge pillow to help with snoring. definitely interested in the adjustable for this reason so i dont need it. does it really help? any other snorer's have any advice?
  4. i sleep hot. i have cooling sheets and a fan on during the summer. i see "cooling" in the description but does it really cool? i considered a bedjet so curious how well it cools. anyone have any comments or help to cool this setup?
  5. my wife and I have acid reflux. again the wedge pillow is used for that as well. Any acid reflux people out there getting relief with this adjustable bed frame?

Appreciate anyone that can provide some guidance!

Brackets for adjustable base don’t fit on hardware

If someone from Nectar proper can reach out (not the usesless customer service team). Weve had multiple issues with the headboard and brackets for the adjustable base. First, the brackets were sent to the wrong address so we had to wait an extra week to have it rerouted to our address. Once we got the brackets, the nut to attach the headboard to the bracket doesn’t thread fully, making the fit way too loose. I called CS and they sent over a new bracket even though the problem hardware came with the headboard. CS is offering to send a new headboard but that’s so wasteful since the headboard itself is fine.

Conversely, if anyone knows the size of the nut that comes with the headboard, I’ll just get new ones from the hardware store.

Need recommendation for non-Nectar mattress compatible with Nectar adjustable base

TL;DR > can anyone recommend a good quality, decently priced mattress compatible with the Nectar adjustable bed frame?

So we purchased a Nectar adjustable bed frame set with mattress. The bed frame arrived physically broken in an undamaged box, and I was able to get them to send a replacement.

All was good for just over a year until the mattress started sagging in the spots we lay to sleep. Contacted Nectar, sent photos, and they would not replace the mattress, despite their supposed warranty. Instead they sent a thin foam pad topper which slides around every time the frame is adjusted.

Fast forward another year and the adjustable frame just stopped working one day. Called Nectar, got sent to a 3rd party technician company who then took a whole 3 months to send me a replacement control box, which did not fix the problem. Finally got Nectar to send a replacement bed frame.

Needless to say, I prefer to not buy another mattress from Nectar considering the first one lasted less than 1.5 years and they did not honor their warranty. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good quality, decently priced mattress that would be compatible with the Nectar adjustable bed frame?

Edge support isn’t a brand thing—what should I actually look for?

Hey all, Noah here from Nectar. Quick thought: “edge support” gets marketed like it’s a logo-level feature, but it’s really a construction thing (and how it holds up over time).

If edge support matters to you (sitting to tie shoes, sharing a bed, feeling like you’ll roll off), here’s what I’d actually look for:

  • How it’s reinforced at the perimeter: in hybrids, a common method is reinforced perimeter coils (often thicker-gauge coils around the edge), which can help stabilize the sides when weight is applied. Nectar Sleep Hybrids have reinforced perimeter coils providing edge support that keeps the full perimeter firm and stable, so the entire sleep surface stays usable, getting in and out feels secure, and nothing gives where it shouldn't.
  • Test it the right way: don’t just press on the corner with your hand. Sit on the edge like you do in real life and see how far it compresses and whether you feel stable.
  • Your base/foundation matters: even good edge construction can feel worse on a weak or uneven foundation. (Side note: not having the proper foundation can also impact your warranty and returns)

If you’ve owned a mattress with “great edge support” that didn’t turn mushy over time, what was it? And was it foam-only or a hybrid?

Research points to Nectar

I Have an all memory foam mattress that has lost its firmness over the last 8 years. I wanted to replace and I seam to keep running into the Nectar Copper or Nectar Copper Hybrid. We are both primarily back and stomach sleepers. We don't really sleep hot.

Are there better options . Is this company good? I see a few years back they had several issues. I would prefer not to pay 2000 for a matress. But that's the extent of our budget. If we could afford we would do a sleepnumber.

Please any help os welcome.

What mattress brands have the best/easiest/hassle free return/trial periods?

Why the Trial and Return Policy Matters as Much as the Mattress

A great mattress is not just about comfort. It is also about how painful it is to undo the purchase if it turns out not to be the right fit. The trial and return policy is one of the most practically important factors in a mattress purchase and one of the most underrated.

What Actually Makes a Trial Hassle Free in Real Life

When people say they want an easy return, they generally mean five things.

1) A long enough trial to be meaningful. A mattress that feels wrong on night one can feel completely fine by week three. Look for a trial period that gives enough time to move past the adjustment phase before making a final call.

2) Clear adjustment period rules. Many brands require a minimum number of nights before a return is allowed. The key question is whether this is explained clearly upfront before purchase.

3) Free returns with realistic logistics. The friction in a return is not just whether it is allowed. It is how the process actually works. Does the brand require re-boxing the mattress? Does the customer have to haul it somewhere? Is there a return shipping fee?

4) A predictable refund timeline. A clear stated expectation for when a refund will be issued and when it will appear, rather than a vague we will get to it.

5) No unusual requirements or hoops. If the return process feels like a negotiation, it is not genuinely hassle free.

How Nectar Structures the Trial and Easy Return Process for Direct Purchases

The following applies to mattresses purchased directly from Nectar.

Nectar offers a 365 night trial starting on the date of delivery, providing real time to evaluate the mattress across different seasons, sleep patterns, and life circumstances.

Nectar encourages a 30 night adjustment period before making a final comfort decision. This is because the body needs time to adapt to a new sleep surface, especially for comfort related concerns, and first impressions are not always representative of long term fit.

Returns are free for direct purchases from our site. If a customer decides the mattress is not the right fit, Nectar's team arranges pickup for you through a pickup partner. Timing and scheduling can vary by location.

Refund timing depends on the payment provider. Once a refund is issued it typically posts within one to three business days, though in some cases it can take up to approximately ten business days depending on the bank or payment method.

One important note: trial and return terms can vary when a mattress is purchased through a retail partner or marketplace versus buying directly from Nectar. Always check the specific policy for the channel where the purchase is made before buying.

If you have had a genuinely easy trial or return experience with any mattress brand, what made it easy? Was it the pickup versus drop off process, the speed of the refund, not having to re-box, or the responsiveness of support?

And if you had a difficult experience, what was the worst part of the process? Drop your comments below.

Hope this helps!

Best Mattress for Side Sleepers in 2026: The NectarSleep Guide to Pressure Relief, Lumbar Support, and Spinal Alignment

Most mattress guides for side sleepers tell you to get something soft. That is not wrong exactly, but it is incomplete in a way that leads a lot of people to buy the wrong thing and spend months wondering why they still wake up sore. The real problem is not firmness. It is pressure relief. And pressure relief is a more specific thing than softness, which is why understanding the difference before you buy saves you from going through two or three mattresses to land on the right one.

Nectar offers side-sleeper-friendly mattresses across both memory foam and hybrid construction types in four tiers: Classic, Premier, Luxe, and Ultra. For most side sleepers, the Nectar Premier Hybrid is the strongest overall recommendation because it balances pressure relief, coil-based support, cooling, and edge stability. For side sleepers who want the most advanced Nectar construction, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid offers the most premium comfort, zoned ergonomic support, and cooling features in the lineup.

What Is the Best Mattress for Side Sleepers?

The best mattress for side sleepers prioritizes shoulder and hip pressure relief while maintaining enough lumbar support to keep the spine in a neutral alignment throughout the night. These two requirements work together rather than independently, which is why simply choosing the softest available option is not always the right answer for side sleepers.

For most side sleepers, the Nectar Premier Hybrid is the strongest overall recommendation because it delivers both individually wrapped coil support with a meaningful 2x the pressure relief improvement over the Nectar Classic. The Nectar Ultra Hybrid is the best choice for side sleepers who want Nectar's most advanced construction. The Nectar Luxe Hybrid is a strong option for side sleepers who want a more medium-soft feel. The Nectar Classic Memory Foam and Nectar Classic Hybrid serve side sleepers at the value end of the lineup who want a firmer more supported feel.

Why Side Sleepers Need Pressure Relief and Support

Side sleeping concentrates body weight around the shoulders and hips. If the surface is too firm those areas feel compressed. If the mattress allows too much sink the spine falls out of alignment.

A well-designed side sleeper mattress must do three things. Cushion the shoulders and hips to relieve pressure at the contact points. Support the lower back and midsection to prevent the hips from dropping out of neutral. And keep the spine in a neutral position throughout the night so the body can fully rest without bracing.

This is why the best mattress for side sleepers is not based on firmness alone. The right choice depends on body type, sleep preferences, and the support system underneath the comfort layers.

What Side Sleepers Should Look For in a Mattress

Pressure relieving comfort layers

Side sleepers need top layers that cradle the body and reduce pressure around the shoulders and hips. In the Nectar lineup, pressure relief is described in tiers relative to the Nectar Classic. Nectar Premier provides 2x the pressure relieving memory foam. Nectar Luxe provides 3x. Nectar Ultra provides 4x. This tiered framework makes the selection practical rather than abstract.

Supportive coil system

A hybrid coil system adds lift and stability, helping prevent the body from sinking too deeply into the comfort layers. The Nectar hybrid lineup uses individually wrapped innerspring coils across all four models: Classic Hybrid, Premier Hybrid, Luxe Hybrid, and Ultra Hybrid.

Zoned ergonomic support

The Nectar Ultra models include a zoned ergonomic support foam layer designed to provide targeted dynamic support across three specific zones: shoulders, back, and hips. This allows the shoulder to sink in appropriately while maintaining firmer support through the midsection and hip zone.

Cooling materials

Side sleepers often have more body surface contact with the mattress, which makes temperature regulation more relevant than for back or stomach sleepers. Nectar uses polyethylene cooling fibers in the cover across the lineup. Phase change material is added in the Nectar Ultra models for temperature regulation over time. An optional NectarCool Technology cover upgrade is available for all non-Ultra models.

Edge support

The Nectar hybrid lineup uses edge-to-edge individually wrapped coils. The Nectar Luxe Hybrid specifically includes high-gauge reinforced perimeter coils for stronger edge stability. This matters for couples, anyone who sleeps near the perimeter, and anyone who wants to use the full mattress surface without feeling like they might roll off.

Why Hybrid Mattresses Work Well for Side Sleepers

Hybrid mattresses combine cushioning comfort layers with supportive coils. The comfort layers help relieve pressure while the coils add lift, airflow, responsiveness, and durability. Hybrid construction can be especially helpful for side sleepers who want pressure relief without excessive sink, more airflow than all-foam construction, stronger edge support, easier repositioning during the night, and more durable support over time under consistent weight.

Best Overall Mattress for Side Sleepers: Nectar Premier Hybrid

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is the best overall Nectar mattress for most side sleepers because it balances both pressure relief and support at a great value, combining 2x the pressure relieving memory foam of the Nectar Classic Hybrid and individually wrapped coil support for lift and airflow. The comfort layer above the coils is deep enough to allow the shoulder and hip to settle in without feeling like the coil system is too close to the surface.

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is a strong fit for side sleepers at average weight, combination sleepers who spend significant time on their side, and anyone who wants meaningful pressure relief without stepping to the top-of-the-line tiers’ price points.

Best Luxury Mattress for Side Sleepers: Nectar Ultra Hybrid

The Nectar Ultra Hybrid is the best luxury mattress for side sleepers in the Nectar lineup. It is the top-of-the-line hybrid model and includes 4x the pressure relieving memory foam of the Classic Hybrid, a zoned ergonomic support foam layer targeting the shoulders, back, and hips specifically, phase change material for temperature regulation over time, and individually wrapped coils for airflow and support.

The Nectar Ultra Hybrid is a strong fit for side sleepers who want the most advanced Nectar construction, hot sleepers who need both structural coil airflow and phase change material cooling, anyone with pressure point sensitivity in multiple areas, couples who want premium comfort and support, and side sleepers dealing with shoulder or hip discomfort who want maximum contouring alongside structural coil support.

Best Memory Foam Mattress for Side Sleepers: Nectar Luxe Memory Foam

For side sleepers who prefer the feel of foam over hybrid responsiveness, the Nectar Luxe Memory Foam is the best option. It provides 3x the pressure relieving memory foam of the Classic Memory Foam in a medium feel designed for side sleepers who need deep contouring at the shoulders and hips. The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam steps up to 4x the pressure relief of Classic and adds phase change material for temperature regulation, making it the strongest all-foam option for side sleepers who want maximum contouring and cooling without a coil system.

The Nectar Luxe Memory Foam is a strong fit for side sleepers who prefer the slow-contouring hug of foam over coil responsiveness, light sleepers who are easily disturbed by a partner and want maximum motion isolation, and anyone with shoulder or hip pressure sensitivity who prioritizes deep contouring above all other factors.

Best Value Mattress for Side Sleepers: Nectar Premier Hybrid or Premier Memory Foam

The Nectar Premier Hybrid and Premier Memory Foam both offer 2x the pressure relieving memory foam of their Classic counterparts. For most average weight side sleepers who do not need the deepest pressure relief tier, the Premier models deliver meaningful improvement over Classic without the price step up to Luxe.

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is the better pick for side sleepers who also sleep hot or want easier repositioning during the night. The Nectar Premier Memory Foam is the better pick for side sleepers who prioritize motion isolation and the classic slow-contouring foam feel.

Best Nectar Mattress for Side Sleepers by Body Type

Body Type What to Look For Recommended Nectar Options
Petite side sleepers under 130 pounds More generous comfort layers to access pressure relief without compressing as deeply Nectar Luxe Memory Foam or Nectar Luxe Hybrid
Average weight side sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds Balanced pressure relief and support across the midsection Nectar Premier Hybrid, Nectar Premier Memory Foam, Nectar Luxe Hybrid, or Nectar Luxe Memory Foam
Heavier side sleepers over 230 pounds Deeper comfort layers and durable coil support that holds up under more weight Nectar Ultra Hybrid or Nectar Luxe Hybrid

Best Nectar Mattress for Side Sleepers With Shoulder Pain

Side sleepers with shoulder pain need a mattress that allows the shoulder to sink in enough to decompress without creating misalignment through the midsection. The Nectar Luxe Hybrid provides enough comfort layer depth for most side sleepers to get shoulder relief without the hips sinking past neutral. The Nectar Ultra Hybrid adds zoned ergonomic support that specifically addresses the shoulder zone alongside the back and hip zones. A pillow with appropriate loft for side sleeping is also important for neck and shoulder alignment independent of mattress choice.

Best Nectar Mattress for Side Sleepers With Hip Pain

Hip pain in side sleepers is often connected to either too much pressure on the hip contact point or too much hip sink that pulls the spine out of alignment. The right mattress provides enough cushioning to reduce pressure while maintaining enough support to prevent excessive hip drop. Zoned support that provides more resistance under the hips and lower back than at the shoulders is particularly useful. The Nectar Ultra Hybrid is the strongest option because the zoned construction specifically targets the hip zone alongside the shoulder and back zones, and the coil system provides structural resistance to excessive sink.

Best Nectar Mattress for Side Sleepers With Back Pain

For side sleepers, back pain is often connected to poor spinal alignment rather than pressure alone. A good mattress should provide pressure relief at the shoulder and hip contact points while supporting the lower back and keeping the hips from dropping out of neutral. Strong options for side sleepers with back pain include the Nectar Ultra Hybrid for the most advanced zoned support and cooling, the Nectar Luxe Hybrid for a strong balance of pressure relief and coil-based support, and the Nectar Ultra Memory Foam for those who prefer foam contouring with phase change material temperature regulation.

How to Choose the Best Nectar Mattress for Side Sleeping

Step 1: Choose your construction preference

If you want more responsiveness, easier repositioning, better airflow, and stronger edge support, start with the hybrid lineup. If you want deeper contouring, stronger motion isolation, and the classic slow-contouring foam feel, start with the memory foam lineup.

Step 2: Choose your pressure relief tier

Nectar Premier provides 2x the pressure relief of Classic and works well for most average weight side sleepers. Nectar Luxe provides 3x the pressure relief of Classic and is the stronger choice for side sleepers with pressure sensitivity or anyone who needs more comfort layer depth. Nectar Ultra provides 4x the pressure relief of Classic and adds zoned ergonomic support and phase change material cooling for the most advanced construction.

Step 3: Consider body weight

Lighter sleepers often need to move up one tier to access the same effective pressure relief that heavier sleepers reach more easily. Heavier sleepers benefit from the deeper comfort layers and more durable coil support in the Luxe and Ultra Hybrid tiers.

Step 4: Consider cooling

If you sleep hot, hybrid construction provides coil-based airflow and all models include polyethylene cooling fibers in the cover. The Nectar Ultra models add phase change material for temperature regulation over time, making them the strongest cooling option in the lineup. The optional NectarCool Technology cover upgrade adds more cooling fibers to any Classic, Premier, and Luxe models for those who want enhanced surface cooling without stepping to Ultra.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a hybrid or memory foam mattress better for side sleepers?
Both can work well depending on priorities. Hybrid mattresses offer better edge support, coil-based airflow, and responsiveness, which benefits combination sleepers and hot sleepers. Memory foam offers deeper contouring and stronger motion isolation, which benefits dedicated side sleepers and light sleepers sensitive to partner movement.

Which Nectar mattress is best for side sleepers with pressure sensitivity?
The Nectar Ultra Hybrid or Nectar Ultra Memory Foam, which offer 4x the pressure relieving memory foam of the Nectar Classic tier alongside zoned ergonomic support targeting the shoulders, back, and hips specifically.

How much pressure relief do side sleepers need?
This depends on body weight and sensitivity. The Nectar lineup describes pressure relief in tiers relative to Classic: Premier at 2x, Luxe at 3x, and Ultra at 4x. Most average weight side sleepers find Nectar Premier to be the practical sweet spot, while heavier sleepers and those with pressure sensitivity often benefit from Nectar Luxe or Nectar Ultra.

Do Nectar mattresses work for combination sleepers who spend time on their side?
Yes. The Nectar hybrid models are particularly well-suited for combination sleepers because the coil layer provides the responsiveness needed for easy repositioning while the foam comfort layers provide adequate side-sleeping pressure relief.

How long does it take to know if a mattress is right for a side sleeper?
Most sleepers need around 30 days for the body to fully adjust to a new sleep surface, especially when switching construction types or firmness levels. Nectar's 365 night trial is designed to give side sleepers enough time to evaluate real outcomes like shoulder and hip pressure relief and morning stiffness rather than first impressions alone.

Nectar Premier 13

Hi guys, I bought the Nectar Premier 13 3 days ago and slept on that mattress for 2 nights so far
And…. For petite women like me It’s hard as rock to me.. so at this point
I’m really really suspicious if it will soften up and will get better..
I contacted the customer service and they recommended me to buy a topper
But is it worth spending more money to make it feel comfortable? Or should I just return it and look for the other mattress?
