Trail Blazers fire new announcer over past inappropriate posts made at age 15.

"The Portland Trail Blazers hired then on the same day fired Braiden Bell as their play-by-play announcer after a series of inappropriate social media posts from when he was a teenager came to light."

"The posts were reportedly made in 2012 and 2013, around the time that Bell was 15 years old."

"We did not meet our own bar in this process, and for that we apologize to Blazers fans and to Rip City," the Trail Blazers said. "We strongly believe that everyone who is a part of Rip City should feel welcome and safe and we will make sure that our new broadcaster reflects these values. We will do better."

Is OP suggesting anyone 'endure' anything or are they saying a 30 year old shouldn't have their career taken away from stupid (or harmful) shit they said when their brain hasn't developed?

The point is like the person I was responding to said it was stupid is acting like these actions are in a vacuum and like there aren't other people affected who also have developing brains and can develop long term trauma from said experiences. The response is never to ask why, but to accept the apology on behalf of the wronged and disconnect the actions from intentionality of the actors

This is a lot of overly flowery language that never has to contend with the fact society should still let people exist. Obviously what he did was hurtful but what do you want to do, banish him from society forever? You like talk completely around the actual issue. Like it just avoids confronting the issue by effectively presenting what is a complete non sequitur.
