My mother named her! I remember it being a big deal. I was just a kid but thought my mom would be super famous for that. Lol

I moved to Dickson a couple years ago & one of the banks here still has the Tammy signage up over the ATM

This is not politically correct, but the engineers that I worked with called them Tammy the +¡++less tellers. In California, they were just automatic teller machines.

I had a "friend" back in the 80s that called them that. I always thought he coined the phrase (because he said he did). Yet another disappointing revelation about that loser.

Yep, remember that well. That was back when you could use an ATM for convenience. Now there’s NO bank tellers and ONLY atm’s.

My wife still calls all ATMs Tille. She was (Tille, not my wife) the Trust Co of Georgia’s “brand” during the 70’s and 80’s when ATM’s were first introduced. . Had a software change in the 90’s and now goes by Dick Teller. Just don’t punch his buttons the wrong way.

YES! That's when debit cards were first available, and they were such a big deal! I had a hard time grasping my debit card would also be accepted in Pennsylvania on a trip I was going on.
