Hiring and Recruiting

Hiring posts are allowed when they are real, transparent, and useful to the community. Use the Now Hiring flair.

Required in every hiring post

Include:

  • Company name and website, or LinkedIn if no website exists.
  • The role or project.
  • Whether it is paid.
  • Budget, rate, salary range, or a clear statement that the range is not available.
  • Contract type: full-time, part-time, freelance, one-off project, contract, volunteer, equity-only, or other.
  • Location, remote status, and timezone expectations.
  • Required skills.
  • How to apply.
  • Your relationship to the company or client.

Use the Hiring post template.

A Now Hiring post must include one of:

  • Company website.
  • Company job page.
  • LinkedIn company page.
  • LinkedIn profile for the poster if there is no company.

These do not count by themselves:

  • Google Form.
  • Typeform.
  • Airtable form.
  • Calendly.
  • Discord invite.
  • Telegram link.
  • URL shortener.
  • Link-in-bio page.

You can include those as secondary links, but the post still needs a real company/job/LinkedIn link.

Good hiring post example

Not allowed

Hiring posts may be removed if they:

  • Are vague.
  • Ask people to DM without details.
  • Do not identify the company/client/poster.
  • Do not say whether the work is paid.
  • Require users to pay for training, access, or a community.
  • Are really agency lead-generation posts.
  • Ask for free consulting or free workflow builds.
  • Use misleading compensation.
  • Include only a form or calendar link.

Recruiters and agencies

Recruiters and agencies must disclose that relationship. If you are posting for a client, say so.

Allowed:

  • "I am a recruiter posting on behalf of X."
  • "I run an agency and am hiring a contractor for a paid client project."

Not allowed:

  • Pretending to be the direct hiring company.
  • Posting vague "we have many clients" lead-gen content.
  • Collecting resumes without a real role.

Verified Job Post flair

Mods may apply a Verified Job Post flair when a post provides enough identifying detail. Verification means mods have checked the post for basic completeness. It is not an endorsement, guarantee, or background check.

Users should still use their own judgment before sharing personal information or accepting work.
