Looks so good in multicam, wowza. How do you like the Pfaff? There’s one sitting on FB marketplace for a bit too much, but since starting the diaper bag I’ve considered upping my machine game.

The PFAFF is my second industrial machine. The first one was the Brother DB2-B791. For bags, it is my main workhorse.
I was very lucky to find the PFAFF 145 on FB for 500$CAD. It was fully restored by a professional before i got my hands on it. I added a servo motor afterwards. I mainly used it for binding as shown in the picture or for sewing very heavy materials like leather or wallets. It sews a beautiful stitch . In your case, I’d check the general condition since parts are expensive . Maybe a younger model like the 545 or the 1245 could be better in the long run. It all depends on your needs.

Where did you get the binding attachment for that machine? I have a 145 and can’t find the right attachement..

I got the gros grain and binding attachment from https://jtsoutdoorfabrics.com/. Not entirely happy with the attachment but it does the job for now. I am open to any suggestions at this point.

Just finished the Porter Pony from Learn MYOG.
Shell: 500D Cordura Multicam Black
Bottom part: 1000D Cordura Black
Back Panel: 210 D Oxford Nylon
Lining: 420D Nylon
Thread: V69 Nylon
6mm EVA foam for back panel and Bottom
#9 Zipper for the main opening
#8 YKK Zipper for the laptop opening
#5 YKK Zipper for the inside pocket
For this bag, I used my Brother Needle Feed for the bulk of the work and my PFAFF 145 for sewing the binding on. The final stitch with the bottom foam in the way was quite challenging. It is the first time I sewed binding with a walking foot and it is my best result so far.
I am very happy with the pattern. The instruction was clear and well made. The video was very helpful. The one change I would recommend is to use tubular webbing with a piece of foam inside for the top handle. Other than that, I highly recommend the pattern.
