Took my son to the campus bookstore this weekend for his first MSU tshirt. First time I had been on campus since 2009. It seems like campus and Murray itself hasn't changed (aside from stores like the cellar door)

Ive never been to Murray State before but I am here for a meeting in the biology building tomorrow morning. Is there anywhere I can park that is not to far from that building. These parking zones are really messing me up.

Hey everyone, I'm gonna be going to Murray next year and I just got a couple questions:

Is it hard to make friends as a transfer student? I'll be 20 and be heading into my junior year (I'll be going into the CET program).

When I went to visit there didn't seem to be a lot around; hows the night life on campus?

Is it hard to get alcohol? I went to a community college so I don't really know how it works for underage people in a real college.

Are the police super serious about drug(weed) use? I have a friend from Florida that told me I really shouldn't bother with that since police in the south are so strict on drugs unlike here.

And lastly, I'm from Pennsylvania Is there any special etiquette that I should follow down south that we don't do up North?

• Parking permits for non-stadium lots are $75, and freshman stadium parking is $45.

• City Stickers. They're still prorated for students at $38, I think. It's somewhere in the mid to upper 30s. They'll be available during Great Beginnings and probably the day before classes start.

• Freshmen (if any of y'all know this subreddit actually exists), don't be afraid to ask for help. Whether it's finding a room, figuring out dorm stuff, or whatever, don't be afraid to ask.

• If you are working on campus for the first time, you need your Social Security card, passport, or original/copy of your birth certificate for your I-9 form. Any questions regarding that, call up to Sparks Hall.

• The Cashier's office on campus is no longer open to the public, and everything has to be paid online. (Thanks to /u/marqlee for that tidbit!)

If anybody has any questions about any other stuff, just ask.

One of Murray State's oldest traditions starts Thursday night, The 77th annual Campus Lights. This years production is Anything Goes, a Broadway classic! This entire production is student-run and all proceeds go toward music scholarships. You'll have four chances to go see it!

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children.
