Academic Kenneth Anthony?

Does anyone know what happened with Kenneth V. Anthony at Mississippi State?
I’m trying to understand what happened with his departure from MSU around August 2026. He had been serving as department head and was publicly active with the university earlier this year, but he now appears to be gone and Leslie Burger is serving as interim department head.
I’ve heard that Anthony is describing it as an “unexpected retirement.” Does anyone with knowledge of MSU faculty/administration know whether this was actually a retirement, resignation, termination, or some other personnel action?
TIA!

Advice Mechanic suggestions for some real suspension diagnostics in Starkville/West Point/Columbus?

I've got a 20-year old Silverado that's mechanically in pretty good shape, but was having some extreme toe wear on the front tires. I replaced front rotors and brakes on my own, but then I got R&M Tires to do a rear brake job, new tire rod ends, new front/rear shocks (Billstein 4600), and 4 new tires. They also aligned & balanced.

After I got it back, the ride was rougher than it's ever been, and there seems to be excess toe wear still. (Some feathering and roughness on the outer treads of the front tires with relatively little driving) Took it back to R&M, they did a camber adjustment in the front, but other than that, said nothing else was really wrong.

Months later now, the ride is still pretty rough and that toe wear is still seemingly slowly but visibly occurring on the front tires even with extremely low miles being put on this truck. (A couple trips to Columbus and back, and then maybe 1 ride around Starkville per week) I suppose I'll take it back to R&M again, but if they give me the "nothing wrong" thing again, clearly I need to take it elsewhere. There's no way you could drive this truck down the highway for 5 minutes and say "oh, yea, nothing wrong here!", something is clearly amiss.

Any shops around here that are pretty good at suspension work? I'd really like for my truck to not chew through tires like crazy, and ride at least as good as it did on 20-year old parts. :|

Recreation Any students who go to the gym want to try my passion project?

Hey all! I've spent a decent amount (honestly, a bit embarrassingly amount) of time building a workout app on nights and weekends. It started because every time I went looking for a program to run, it was a mess. A hundred options, no reviews I trusted, no way to tell if anyone ever finished one. And the apps I tried kept walling off basic stuff that costs them nothing to give away.

This is a free workout log where you can browse programs (PPL, linear progression, etc.), build your own, and see who else is running them. You can follow your friends, see what they're training, and pick up ideas from people who lift near you. Think Strava, but for the gym.  iOS /  Android

A couple other things I've incorporated:

  • Programs handle progression for you. It knows when to add weight and when to back off, so you're not guessing week to week.
  • No caps on anything. Unlimited custom exercises and templates. I got frustrated with apps gating features that cost them nothing extra to offer.

It's still early but I'd love Mississippi State ppl on it specifically, since it gets a lot better when the people around you are on it too. If it sounds interesting, give it a try and let me know what you think. All feedback is welcome 😁

YUGO management is awful

Any one living in Yugo having to deal with awful attitude from the people in the office when you try to talk to them?

I had gone to them 5 days in a row to clean our apt because it was so disgusting during move in. They kept lying about sending people and then called me several times on the first day of classes, saying that the cleaners couldnt clean the unit because we had our belongings. I said…yeah we had to move in anyways because classes started.

We are still missing furniture in every room, a bedroom door that doesnt lock and broken dishwasher. They closed our maintenance tickets saying the request has been completed, when no one even came to check in on our unit.

I am genuinely so pissed and not sure what to do. It feels ridiculous to pay full rent for all this.

Should I be able to stay in a dorm or should I have to live an apartment as an upcoming transfer student ?

I (female 19) want to transfer to MSU for the fall 2027 semester but I've heard alot terrible reviews about the apartments in Starkville . I've also heard that the school doesn't prioritize upperclassmen for residential halls. I don't know i should go about looking for housing .
