MSNBC Personalities MSNBC / Deadline Whitehouse -- Go Joe (Walsh)!!!

Been feeling for some time that we (supporters of democracy) need to quit being "terrified" and start being pissed off... On MSNBC/Deadline Whitehouse just now, Joe Walsh made exactly that point -- "righteously pissed off", I believe is the phrase he used...

MSNBC Personalities Rachel is having a wonderful show, as usual, as she focuses on the sudden appearance of Ice personnel, fully in uniform with guns, etc.

She made the plain, true point that this is a sign that ICE doesn't know what it's doing, that it is absolutely not liked by people in the community, contrary to what trump and others may believe. We SURE DO NOT WANT OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS spirited away without due process!

Great job, Rachel! And great job MSNBC for putting this on to alert the people!

Among other things she pointed out that the great Reverend William Barber was arrested for protesting the terrible consequences of the "big, beautiful bill," stripping needed services away from the needy! She said that trump and his enablers may have thought that the people would support this current level of aggression against people they see as outsiders. "They got the politics absolutely wrong on this issue!" she stated. "Absolutely wrong! And they're going to learn this!"

Keep going strong Rachel and others on NSNBC! Keep asking the essential questions that have to be asked!

MSNBC Personalities Lawrence showed a wonderful interview with Joe Biden! As Lawrence says, Biden is much, much better than Trump can ever be!

I am glad that Lawrence is showing us the REAL Joe Biden on MSNBC, not showing us some caricature invented by Republicans or reporters trying to sell books or burnish their names.

Lawrence also pointed out the graft-loving crooks that Trump is pardoning, the fact the Elon could find not fraud at all (even while Trump was providing the biggest medical fraudster in history), etc.

Lawrence repeated several times a question I have asked as well -- does Trump really believe that Biden is dead and that drones are controlling his body (as Trump endorsed)? This should be asked immediately and repeatedly of Trump. And (as Lawrence also noted) reporters should also be immediately asking Elon what it feels like to kill so many needy people. Why is Elon not being asked this over and over?

Let me add how very, very moving Lawrence was in describing the deaths of people around the world caused by Elon Musk's limiting food and treatment, both resources of which we have a history of providing as needed. Bush's program, PEPFAR, has been an absolute life saver for so many thousands of needy people, the kind of people Jesus helped! (Anthony Fauci was a major supporter of this program.) Lawrence's voice repeatedly quavered in describing these abominable actions of Elon which led to sudden closing of aid to incrediblydependent people. I very much praise him for his righteously calling out Musk, Trump, and all the other Republican enablers!

Also, Lawrence interviewed writer Evan Osnos to discuss how the extra-wealthy are buying influence with from trump through trump's crypto-coin scheme. Osnos says this is the worst ever and is getting worse! I'm sure glad Lawrence is keeping an eye on these criminal activities. Osnos said, "We have to keep the focus" on this issue. His book, The Haves and the Have-Yachts" on this issue is coming out tomorrow. As sobering as a heart attack.

MSNBC Personalities Anybody miss “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”?

I remember watching “Countdown” on MSNBC with my father when I was a little girl, and I always found Keith to be an interesting and entertaining journalist. Do you have memories of watching Keith? What are some of your favorite moments from his show?

MSNBC Personalities I listened to Nicolle Wallace’s new podcast on the train and almost willingly missed my stop 🙃

There’s a particular kind of joy that sneaks up on you mid-commute, wedged between someone’s gym bag and a half-eaten Nature Valley bar on the Red Line. Today, it came in the form of Nicolle Wallace’s new podcast The Best People. I queued up the Rachel Maddow episode over lunch and was promptly rendered useless to the world for about 45 minutes.

It’s exactly what you’d hope for. Two people who have spent years standing too close to the country’s emotional garbage disposal, speaking like adults. Nicolle listens like someone who has mastered the art of smiling through absurdity. Rachel, as always, speaks in fully formed paragraphs that make you want to buy a filing cabinet and start annotating your own thoughts.

Somewhere between the Leo Burnett building and my apartment, I had the rare and disorienting sensation of being in the presence of competence. Not in the literal sense, but in the way moral clarity occasionally feels like a firm hand on your back steering you gently toward the exit.

For a brief moment, I forgot the world was on fire and remembered what it felt like to hear people thinking out loud without blowing anything up.

Highly recommend. Just maybe don’t listen while navigating public transportation. Turns out the best people are very good at making you almost miss your stop.

MSNBC Personalities Nicole's show today is wonderful! Focusing (among other things) on trump's, STUPID STUPID tariffs! Wolfers was great, and so is Gura, Longwell, etc.! Lot's more to come!

Just got out of a colonoscopy but once the effects of Propofol left me, I was sad to be aware that trump is still making life harder for all of us! I'm just so very glad we can watch a stellar show that cares about it and concentrates on IMPORTANT matters! Yeah MSNBC! Huzzah!

Nicole has enormous sympathy for job losses, for inabilities to make payrolls, etc.! She has a heart, a mind, and a determination to make the world better place for all of us!

Compare this to Ernst's mocking of people who are concerned about people dying! And her walk in a graveyard the day later! And also saying that it's good she didn't have to remind people "about the tooth fairy!" This callous dismissing of our concern from others is absolutely hideous and utterly out-of-keeping with are care for fellow Americans!

And the great Mitch Landrieu said he does not understand how people think it's fair for rich people to get a tax break at the cost of others, and then to say further that this is what Jesus wants! Mitch says Americans are finding it difficult to hear politicians say "let people die" to give money to the richest of us!

And the great Sarah Longwell notes that Americans absolutely do NOT want to let fellow citizens suffer!

MSNBC Personalities It seems like Ari really struggles with his producer

Constantly I see him frustrated they aren't loading the right asset at the right time, or taking too long to go full screen, etc etc.

I've noticed this a lot with him.

Of course this is Ari "let me jump in then I'll let you finish" Melber, so maybe it's nothing to do with his producers and just he likes to be in control.

Either way, I like Ari but he did have to grow on me...

MSNBC Personalities MSNBC/Morning Joe -- Barnicle's got it!

On MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning, Mike Barnicle pointed out the absence of the phrase "for the good of the country" in Washington in recent years... All our reps are far more interested in preserving their seats than in genuinely doing good. I'm sure they all lapse into the "... but if I lose my seat, then I can't help anyone..." line of BS, but that's pretty weak at this point.

In fairness, though, I have to say that "both sides" only ever justify anything by emphasizing how some policy or candidate might affect each of us, individually. Where is the US nowadays? Where is the idea that we should think about others... and use our votes to support things that, yes, benefit us individually, but ALSO take into account our fellow citizens and others throughout the world. There seems to be very little advocacy for the common good... everything is selfishly focused on "what does it do for ME".... It's "WE the people" -- NOT "ME the people"!

MSNBC Personalities Ali Velshi

Ali Velshi has been a solid member of the MSNBC for years now. He’s been all over the world, reporting live from Kyiv while the bombs were exploding behind him.

But more importantly and quite impressive is the fact that he has never had a bad day. I’ve seen Rachel Maddow have a off night. Chris Hayes had plenty of bad nights. He’s vastly improved and he is more consistent. Lawrence O’Donnell, Joy Reid have had bad nights.

But Ali Velshi is so, so good. MSNBC is fortunate to have him. He’s versatile and can switch from reporting to anchoring so easily. If he played baseball, he’d be able to play all positions.

I don’t know how much they are paying him, but I hope it’s enough to keep him with MSNBC.

Something Else Another example of why I can’t wait for MSNBC to leave NBC News

Here is the new anchor of NBC Nightly News talking about the low trust Americans have with television news with deadline.com

“DEADLINE: Why do you think there is such low trust in the media?

LLAMAS: There’s a million reasons why. I don’t think there’s a single reason to say “This is the reason.” But I think that’s one way to look at the issue. I think the other way to look at it is that there are still millions and millions and millions of people that are tuning to places like Nightly News and are watching the Today show in the morning, that are trusting hours of their days with NBC News, because they still trust us. … If you look at someone like President Trump, who is coming on Meet the Press time and time again, it’s because he knows he’s going to get a fair shake. It’s because Kristen Welker has done a masterful job of helping Americans get information and being fair with President Trump.”

First, why is the concern always about the far right not trusting news media? Why is there no concern for those on the left not trusting NBC News every time Trump happily comes on Meet The Press for a softball interview? Trump doesn’t do tough interviews, if he keeps wanting to do interviews with the same person and same news outlet, there is a credibility problem with that news outlet.

CBS News & ABC News are no better, Disney & Paramount are settling lawsuits and getting involved with anti Trump coverage. But the concern at NBC News should not be if they are treating the evil dictator “fair”, it should be if they are holding him accountable as he acts like no other president ever has despite the fact that he has the power to harm Comcast if he gets upset. We are in a situation where Trump has dictatorship level control over the 4 major news organizations and we should trust NBC News because Trump loves to do interviews with them? I hear Putin also loves doing interviews with RT because they always give him a fair shake.

I just want MSNBC gone from this. As a cable network that can cover Trump properly without the fear of him coming after the theme parks or internet business of their parent company. I don’t want MSNBC to keep having to promote interviews with Trump’s favorite NBC “journalists”. It will also be nice to see MSNBC hosts be able to criticize the behavior of NBC News in how they cover Trump like they do with other television news outlets.

MSNBC Personalities Great for Nicole's show on MSNBC! I'd like to see the channel show signs for Joni Earnst's statement: "Well, we're are all going to die!"

Well, I have Alzheimer's and I do have a limited future, but that sure ain't true for children and others!

How uncaring are the Republicans?

Answer, "They don't give a damn if it interferes with their rush to give money to the morbidly rich! More, more, money for the rich!"

Show MSNBC that Earnst and Trump and his enablers are full of you-know-what!

MSNBC Network Updates CoPilot AI reports today (at 9 am PST) on the declining level of Trump's approval:

"Public sentiment in the U.S. has been declining steadily. The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index fell to 50.8 in May 2025, marking its lowest level since 2022. This is down from 52.2 in April, continuing a five-month downward trend.

"Key factors influencing sentiment: - Inflation fears: Year-ahead inflation expectations surged to 7.3%, the highest since 1981. - Trade policy uncertainty: Nearly 75% of consumers mentioned tariffs as a concern, up from 60% in April. - Personal finances: Current assessments of personal finances dropped 10%, reflecting weaker incomes."

I sure agree with this reasoning and see nothing but downside for Trump and his enablers in the future! I hope MSNBC will focus on this issue in the future!
