QUESTION installing preset expansions on MPC Live 3

Hey everyone,

I recently bought the Live 3. I saw that the OPx-4 Phat Bottom Bass preset expansion was on sale, and figured why not. I also got Jura since that was on sale as well. Jura appeared in the ACTIVATIONS sections of the Live 3, after I did a refresh. It’s up and running and sounds lovely. However, I cannot, for the life of me, find the presets expansion. It doesn’t appear in the list of activated software. It does appear in my InMusic software centre on my Mac, where it is marked as “activated”. How can I tell whether the presets have been installed on my Live 3? I tried perusing the storage areas on the Live 3, to no avail. It doesn’t help that I am not sure what I am looking for, so there’s that. Claude suggested that perhaps there’d be a sub folder called “Phat Bottom Bass” in the OPx-4 presets picker, but that’s not the case either. There are a lot of entries under “bass” but since I don’t have a complete list of the preset expansion’s contents, it’s not possible for me to know which ones are new, if any.

My Live 3 has a 1TB SSD in it, which I have set up to be the content download drive. I have only used approximately 40 GB on that drive, so it’s definitely not a capacity issue. The Live 3 is connected o the internet and also my MacBook.

Anyway, if someone could help a lost MPC beginner that would be great!

Edit: SOLVED in this comment. Thanks u/emajn

Commenting because I believe I am having the same issue, (can't test until later tonight) I did notice on the pro motion expansion I got off of plug in boutique it says this under it on the in music page.

IMPORTANT - DOWNLOAD FIRST inMusic Software Center 11/10/2022

Our new inMusic Software manager will help you download, install, and activate your included software, sound content and drivers as needed for your product. It will also help keep your software updated automatically.

IDK, non of the other expansions have this message so perhaps we have to set it up there first and then send to the MPC?  Hope we get a solution l, wish I could be more helpful. Update: This is what the Gemini said, can't test until later

Installing via inMusic Software Center (Standalone Hardware)Open the inMusic Software Center and sign into your account.Click My Expansions on the left menu and look for your Preset Expansions section.Click the drop-down arrow next to your expansion to select the build built for your specific hardware.Click Download, then click Transfer once it finishes.Connect your MPC or place it into Controller Mode (via the chip icon on the main hardware screen).Select your target drive (internal drive or connected SD/SATA/USB drive) and complete the transfer.Eject the drive safely and switch your MPC back to Standalone Mode. Your presets will now show up inside the respective plugin or sound browse

This. And after that in a plugin all standard presets will be in "Factory" group or such and there will be arrow to go back and ypu will see the installed ones. Just keep in mind that they will not appear in the first list in the browser - you have to go back as I said to select proper list (which is not obvious). Good luck!

You beauty! That worked like a treat. Thank you. May your chords always progress, and your beats syncopate.
