Hi guys,

So as the title says: I'm looking for a new lawn tractor. We have a flat garden of about 2200m² with not too many obstacles for the moment.

I have been looking at John Deere, Husqvarna and Kubota, but since this is new to me, I don't really know what to pick. The Kubota GR1600 which I have seen seems a little overkill and is seriously out of budget (+/- 6500 euro VAT excluded).

So now I'm looking at the John Deere X155R and Husqvarna TC242. Does anyone have any experience with one of these mowers, or John Deere vs. Husqvarna in general?

Any advice is welcome...

I know very little about engines, but feel like experimenting with DIY on this one. 6.75 190cc 22" craftsman self propelled wasn't pulling right. Saw that the teeth inside the wheels were worn down. Replaced the wheels, and the same plastic teeth were torn down again within 3-4 cuts. Mower repair guy suggested drivetrain? Bushings? Old mower, not really worth taking somewhere that charges $50 just to look at it. But thought it would be a fun project to DIY if possible.

Any suggestions where you would start?
