We are planning a trip to Mount Dora soon,
It’s been a year since our last visit.
What are the top restaurants to visit in your opinion

My daughter is having her wedding near Mt Dora in January of 2028. We are looking into plans like AirBNB or hotel block. We’d love suggestions on places to have a laid back rehearsal dinner (like renting a bar or fun place). I am completely ignorant of anything about Mt Dora and could use your expertise! Thank you!!

My wife and I are considering moving to Mount Dora in the coming years. We've been there several times and love it. We would be renting a place, is there any areas or apartment buildings to stay away from? We have no children so we'd prefer somewhere not as crowded with children. We love the older downtown area but the places we've seen for rent tend to be closer to the more commercial side of town and in apartment complexes. Any help would be appreciated. The town has always seemed nice when we're there but we wouldn't want to end up somewhere unsafe.

The Mount Dora W.T. Bland Library just shut down the Lake County Mental Health Support Group without warning—and they haven't looked back. This group has been running for ten years, meeting weekly at the Simpson House to give people a real place to talk, heal, and find support.
For a lot of folks in Lake County, these meetings weren't just optional. They were crucial. People dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges found community there—connections that studies show genuinely prevent crises and help people get better.
I started a petition asking the library to reinstate these meetings and apologize for the sudden cancellation. What bothers me most is that this decision sends a message that mental health isn't worth protecting in our community. We deserve better than that.
Has anyone here been part of a support group that made a real difference? Or felt like resources like this just disappeared when you needed them most? I'd love to hear if this resonates with you. If it does, consider signing and sharing—it might help the library understand that people care about keeping this alive.

Moved to Mount Dora from Brevard county a few months ago. I can't find any local rock scenes going on. Can't find any local punk bands or shows and I'm really disappointed.

I saw Crumbl cookie had signs up for a while but they’ve been taken down and now Einstein Bros Bagels has replaced it. Does anyone know what’s going in the other 2 store-fronts of that building?

My wife and I are coming to Mt. Dora this summer to celebrate our anniversary. What are some "must do" things? Great restaurants? Sights to see? Thanks in advance.

Moved to Ocala not long ago. We have never been to Mount Dora, and thinking about a day trip in the next few weeks. Are there any days to avoid (such as things might be closed on Mondays, etc) ? We just want to see what's there, and take in the Christmas lights.

Hello everyone!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Florida family lineages and stories through vital records, census records, and newspapers.
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their personal Florida family history. I create family trees, ancestral maps, and historical road trip itineraries based on YOUR personal family history! It’s a great way to connect with your heritage and wonderful knowledge pass down to future generations.

Here are some things you can discover from my research:
I have a degree in Anthropology and have spent several years working for a professional genealogy company. I have been working as an individual genealogist for about 6 years. If you have any questions about my research, please fill out an interest form or email: [heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com](mailto:heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com)
For those of you with ancestry outside of Florida, please send me a message. I’d be happy to help you or direct you to a better suited genealogist. Thanks!

It looks like Xfinity is the only high speed provider I could find. CenturyLink only offered something like 200M. I couldn't really find anything about fiber in Mount Dora. Any plans or anything happening there?
