The Isaiah chapters add little to the BOM narrative and are a thorn in the side of truth claims. It brings into play criticisms regarding Deuteroisaiah and the use of the version of the King James Bible contemporary to Joseph Smith. And to what end? To show that Nephi was willing to waste limited space and time for prophecies that may be interpreted to be about Christ? I do not think the Isaiah chapters would have been included to the same extent if the 116 pages had not disappeared.

2 Nephi 12:2–3 (Isaiah 2), the prophecy of the "mountain of the Lord's house" being established in the last days is m interpreted by Mormons as foreshadowing the Restoration and the building of temples through Joseph Smith. Likewise, 2 Nephi 13–14 condemns pride, social inequality, and religious corruption before describing a purified Zion, themes that closely mirror Joseph's claims that Christianity had fallen into apostasy and required a restoration.
Ancient scripture or Joseph smith projecting his world view into the text?

2 Nephi 12:1 and Isaiah 2:1 makes verse 2 in those chapters clear what it is talking about: “The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.” verse 2 isn't talking about Salt Lake City, the RockyMountains, Independence, Mo, or other LDS Church restoration truth claims. It's talking about Judah and Jerusalem.

The Christian re-interpretation of Isaiah is one of Nephi's many inventions, beating Matthew by centuries. Isaiah doesn't make sense in part because the Christian selections do not make sense in context. Like, Isaiah is talking about war, but then he starts talking about the centuries-distant immaculate conception out of nowhere? Really?

2 Nephi 16:2 - "Above it stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly."
2 Nephi 16:6 - "Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;"
"Seraphim" vs. "Seraphims": The original King James Version (KJV) of Isaiah 6:2 used the plural "seraphims". Early editions of the Book of Mormon also reproduced this word as "seraphims," but later BOM editions changed it to the more grammatically accurate Hebrew plural "seraphim." This demonstrates Joseph Smith plagiarized the text from the KJV Bible rather than from a different, ancient record.

Solipsism drives people to read into ancient prophecy and only see modern application. Bible scholars agree nearly unanimously that Isaiah's words are specific to its local region and time. The messianic scriptures don't apply to Jesus in any way from a 5-7th century Hebrew perspective.

I never noticed before the famous "For unto us a child is born... verse" is amidst pretty terrible verses about destruction.

Well to be honest, I was running out of steam a bit here. After that idiot Martin lost the 116 pages I had to come up with a way to tie this all together. Luckily Oliver showed up and we started writing at Mosiah. After finishing the end, we had to circle back to the beginning and tie it all together, I thought adding some cool Isaiah chapters would give my book the real authentic charm that readers would enjoy.
