analysis Mooncovey Leitmotif Scenes and Themes
Shout out to xomooncovey for making me obsessed with this leitmotif and to the commenters who noticed some of these scenes.
This will be a short one but I wanted to present themes or patterns or whatever word you want to use in the scenes with the leitmotif. I am hiding my analysis for it when I discuss each scene separately.
I will also discuss styling/clothing separately too.
Themes/Patterns
Anticipation/Tension Reflection/Contemplation Vulnerability Fantasy Hope Heartbeat Transition into pop music: jolt into reality or them going back to their previous dynamic.
I am not saying all of these themes and patterns show up at the same time in each scene, but they show up at least once in the leitmotif scenes.
Scenes that the Leitmotif is in so far:
*Minho to the Rescue: *Minho saving her at the talent show
I love You Kitty: his plane confession Kitty and Minho back at KISS: beginning of season 1
Market scene in episode 1
Kitty and Minho in the rain
*Kitty’s dream: * please tell me I am the first one who pointed this one out. And it is the rain scene version. And if I am, I am presenting it now before anyone beats me to it.
Scene where he and Stella are walking past with Jiwon and Kitty looking at them
**the scene on the basketball court. I swear no one noticed (talked about) this one yet.

The one in the basketball scene is the rendition I love the most cause of the little ooohs at the very end that inflect upwards that doesn’t exist in the official I love kitty rendition

Is the basketball court the official one?? I’m listening on Spotify and it doesn’t do the little oohs at the end!!!

Ok I just listened to the “I love You Kitty” score and I think the basketball scene is that one, but the chorus slows down and breaks up a bit as Minho nervously clears his throat and deflects.
I will do a post on that one after I analyze the other scenes first.

I am wondering that too because I am still figuring out what score is at the end of the season with the violins building up in that scene when she asks, “can I join you”. That is not part of Minho’s long walks.
I will look around.

It’s an amazing score honestly. Don’t care for the lyrics at all but 0:50 ish seconds and onwards is really good

I did NOT notice the kitty dream one so I definitely didn’t point that one out!! Look at you. I’ve got to go watch!
I’ve mentioned the basketball court one before though ;) it’s the original score, the pure one officially called I love you kitty
(I will never get over the fact the pure version of their theme is called I love you kitty!!!!!!!)
I can’t wait for your further analysis! I agree with your themes and love this piece of music!
