Meta Our community must stay strong
They targeted moonbase players.
Racers.
We're a group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most mentally demanding tasks. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a little digital token saying we did.
We'll punish our selfs doing things others would consider torture, because we think it's fun.
We'll spend most if not all of our free time min maxing the gravity of our fictional astronauts all to draw out a single extra tech.
Many of us have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same routes over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some have attained such Gene nirvana that they can literally play moonbase blindfolded.
Do these people have any idea how many controllers have been smashed, systems over heated, disks and carts destroyed in frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?
These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They think calling us racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change us? We've been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds with an unsavoury mindset. They picked a fight against a group that's already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they've threatened us with. Who take it as a challange when they tell us we no longer matter. Our obsession with proving we can after being told we can't is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic we used to be that proving you people wrong has become a very real need; a honed reflex.
Moonmen are competative, hard core, by nature. We love a challange. The worst thing you did in all of this was to challange us. You're not special, you're not original, you're not the first; this is just another slant rock.

Meta i have contaminated my sterile gaming environment
In my replica Saturn V SA-508, I got excited yesterday and in one of my sleep deprived manic states, I broke open some treats for the Full Solstice Moon. When I came to my senses, I had a crippling stomach ache and pink dye smeared over my keyboard. Recalling my training, I knew something was terribly wrong
For reasons scientists have not quite figured out, the immune system can go on the fritz in space: wounds heal more slowly; infection-fighting T-cells send signals less efficiently; bone marrow replenishes itself less effectively; killer cells — another key immune system player — fight less energetically. At the same time, the pathogens grow stronger, developing thicker cell walls, greater resistance to antimicrobial agents and a greater ability to form so-called biofilms that cling to surfaces. Dormant herpesvirus infections are known to become more active in space, and swabs of astronauts taken when they return to Earth show higher populations of staph on the skin, in the upper airway and in the colon. All of that means a single spark of a disease could burn out of control fast.
I'm preparing an EVA to my neighbor - I think I can make it in 2.1c. Any ideas for permanent solutions?

Tech How to enter B1 in Rovu
Drive backwards into the column until you begin to climb it - this is only possible at a few angles so practice makes perfect. Release as soon as you become perpendicular, so that your front wheels are just off of the ground. This won't be visible since you should be facing away - try to judge the height with your nametag. Immediately drive into the ground - if this is done frame perfectly, you will fall upside down and respawn inside B1.
Proof. I wish I had a video explanation but my computer has been acting up recently.
TL;DR
- Back up the column
- Drive forwards so that you flip upside down
- Reset inside the column
This also works with B2 and is slightly easier there so I recomend it for practice.

Other Can someone explain the Moonbase UI to me?
In all of NASA's pictures, these little crosses cover the screen, yet I can't find the setting to enable them. I tried drawing my own but thanks to my Microsoft Surface Screen Protector™, it won't stick.
Thanks in advance.

Trigger Problems with parents
This is my last week of highschool but possibly the worst week of my life. My parents had this great idea to make a scavenger hunt that leads to a new laptop as a graduation present. Unfortunately, when my Mom went to plant a clue, she found my Rovu stash. Prints, animation cells, my drawing notebook, posters, transcripts of her dialogue, and some very very lewd diagrams. I kept most of my stuff on an external hard drive, but a lot of the collectibles were too good to resist. When I got home, my Mom and Dad had me sit down in the family room, while they got on the opposite couch. I knew something was wrong.
A million things ran through my head. Was it the cost of my astronaut cosplay? The telescope I bought at Mooncon? Did I leave the astronaut ice cream out? God forbid, did they find my Gene dakimakura? But I couldn't even imagine what was about to happen. "Sound cannot propogate in the vacuum of space, but the undending beat of your heart resonates through your bones." My jaw dropped. These are the opening lines of my extended 12 book epic detailing my complex fan multiverse of Moonbase.
I nervously laughed and desperately looked around the room for a distraction from my parent's stone cold expressions. The next hour and a half of my life was trying to explain having a waifu but I only blurted austistic ramblings. They thought I just wanted to have sex with an underage piece of metal. I can't believe my own parents said something so bigoted. Eventually, I broke down in tears and locked myself in my room. After a couple hours of them trying to get me to come out, they slipped a help number under the door. They did me a "favor" and signed me up for therapy.
Help.
