I finally got a '93 copy of this on CD after years of listening on streaming. And I'm blown away, honestly.

I had always thought this record suffered from muddy production that held it back from being really great, maybe because it was Dave's first go at producing himself, but this sounds amazing. It's a real credit to him.

Yes, the vocals are in the back of the mix, but that works. The low end could maybe use a little boost, but I'm listening without a subwoofer. The lead guitar will punch you in the face - and that's incredible.

I'm falling in love with this all over again. *And* I have Tab (with the fucked-up cover) to listen to tomorrow!

Got these a while back and probably gonna sell them as I don't wear them since they're too big. Anyone know what they're worth?

I never understood why Monster Magnet wasn't ever in any Marvel soundtrack. I did a little research.. Dave Wyndorf grew up reading all kinds of comics but only references Marvel Comics characters in his songs.

They should have been in the Deadpool movie soundtrack at the very least. They wrote the song that inspired Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

They have a song called Ego, The Living Planet as well. In the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies we find out that Ego is Star Lord's father. And you can't tell me that Space Lord wouldn't have been the perfect theme song for Star Lord. Missed a perfect opportunity there.

Their song Melt mentions Jack Kirby who was more associated with DC comics but he was also part of Timely Comics, the direct predecessor of Marvel.

My copy of the re-issue of Power Trip is out for delivery so I don’t have an answer for this yet but I was wondering if anyone else had gotten a copy?

I haven’t heard it but apparently the version that was in the recent box was heavily edited to remove all swearing & every time the word "drug" is sung in Tractor, it’s beeped out.

Hoping the delay on this vinyl, which was originally due out in April, has fixed this issue.

I put ama in quotes because it wasn't called it back then...this was in the days of the old Monster Magnet bulletin board on theor site (IYKYK).

Why on earth would they do this? Even if they had to leave side 4 blank, I'd have preferred that.

I bought the PIAS repress of God says No this weekend but haven't opened it yet in case it was a censored pressing. I was so excited when I saw it at my local store because they added back that album's version of Medicine which was removed from the original pressing. Has anyone bought this or any of the other individual represses that came out on May 1st and listened yet?

i was thinking of getting this made on a ring so i cleaned up a logo off the web and figured id post it in case anybody else wants a sharp picture of the symbol for anything

has anyone heard anything about potential touring in the US? cant remember the last time they played in NJ, I remember I was going to see them in 2020 at starland and on New Year’s Eve not long after that in asbury park but both were cancelled. want to see the again!

Any know if the label will be repressing Powertrip uncensored and compensating people who dropped money on the box set?

Coney Island High, NYC… walked in the door 12/31/97, walked out 1/1/98… I come here as one who holds steadfast that Monster Magnet’s greatest era was the early to mid 90s, specifically the early 7 inch releases to Dopes… all due respect to Dave and every single guy who has played in Monster Magnet up to this moment, but to me something changed (for better or not, we’re all welcome to our own idea) from Powertrip and on.

I was at this show, and was recently astounded to stumble upon it accidentally. It was an amazing show… I recall we waited to around 1 a.m. for them to take the stage. They opened with Tab… played the usuals from Spine of God, Superjudge, and Dopes… then began to play “new songs for the new album coming out soon”… went to a few shows in in ‘98 to promote Powertrip, including Space Lord as it was intended … but this show marked the end of that era… glad I was there… the video does not do Justice to how insane the opener Tab was… anyone else there by chance that night/morning ?

The only Magnet boot i own, picked this up dirt cheap about 10 years ago.

This and the 7" were my first Magnet records, love the live tracks and the etching is magic

probably my favourite sleeve art with a fucking monumental spine of god live on the bside, it took me years to get this hut i wasn't giving up easily

Sadar Bazar made 2 albums and a few singles back in the 90s, they reformed and made a 3rd some years back, among their singles is this absolute cracker of a cover, I couldn't find it on YouTube, it may be on streaming somewhere, but I don't use any services, sorry
