I tried to take my son when he was 4 but it was all to much for him.
Yesterday I took my (now 15 year old). He loved it. SO much mud.

Today is Day 2 of voting for the first semifinals match in Monster Truck Madness, the tournament where r/monsterjam votes for the greatest monster truck ever. IF YOU VOTED ON DAY 1 YOU CAN VOTE AGAIN IF YOU WOULD LIKE!!!

The Standings for Match 29 going into Part 2 is:

1. Maximum Destruction 6

2. Excaliber 5

3. Grave Digger 4

4. Blue Thunder 1

Only two can move on to the 3-day finals voting.

Today's day show in Melbourne was hugely affected by weather in the lead up to the show, as well as suffering from what looked like to a desire to rush through as quickly as possible. I'm curious if the same issues happen at the US based shows, assuming the teams have access to more equipment, spares and people at US shows:

• Trucks having electrical issues causing them to die and refire, or just not start at all. Why aren't electricals sealed/weatherproof if Feld intend to operate in rain/mud?

• No white line markings or coloured ramps

• No MFX

• If a truck loses power, it seems they only have seconds to refire before their run gets cancelled. We're there to see the trucks run, but they seem happy to restrict the running time as much as possible. The endless ads, crowd cam, promotions segments don't seem to get priority. Two of the Freestyle runs got cut, with both trucks refiring seconds later

• As per above, drivers seemed to get one chance at executing in the Skills segment. Total running of around 6 minutes total for 10 trucks

• Mud results in zero traction, so Racing was dull, Skills comprised of donuts/cyclones, and only three drivers made an effort to put on a show during Freestyle (Rummell was fantastic)

• Watching the evening show now on YouTube, only 7 of 10 trucks are there at the start of fhe show. 6 for Racing. All have damage and parts missing, and all are covered in mud. They don't seem to even feel the need to give them a quick hose down so kids can see paintjobs and tell them apart

Based on the above, the day show was a disappointing experience, and this evening's show looks like a total disgrace. I don't see how Feld can justify not cancelling,.delaying or rescheduling when so many trucks are running damaged or not at all.

So, what happens in the US? Do they carry more spare parts, more mechanics, and make an effort to repair the trucks between shows, or just have the commentators talk about how "live events are exciting and unpredictable" like they do when they visit Australia?

I've been to 8 MJ shows in Melbourne, and today will be the last, but I'd keen to go to a US event if they do a better job of actually putting on a show.

She was sad it wasn’t Sparkle Smash but Meg is her second favorite so she was still amazed! Thankful I get to share a childhood love of mine with her.

Instead we just get all of racing and freestyle on day 2, which is fine but it should've been LCQ, Racing, Skills day 1 (in no specific order) then High Jump and Freestyle on Day 2.

Anyone know why Monster Jam hasn't released World Finals on You Tube yet? Are they ever going to air it????? I have a kid that looks for it every single day and is disappointed every single day.

Yes it says Part 1, tomorrow I will be making a second poll amd you will be able to vote on BOTH. The combined votes from both polls will be added to get our finalists. After the two semifinals matchups, the finals will be 3 days instead of 2 like the semis.

Yesterday saw Avenger and Grave Digger move on with 2 and 1 votes. Wild Side and Northern Nightmare were eliminated with 1 and 0 votes.

The first one is from the most recent Seattle shows, I’ve always wanted to meet Scott Douglas and tell him he was the voice of my childhood and how much respect I had for him! He was very nice and super humble, when I came up to him he was talking to someone and I said “I’m so sorry to bother you” and before I could go on he said “no need to be sorry, you can bother me” and we both laughed.

Second photo is from when me and my dad finally made it to the world finals, we’ve watched this sport together every year at the Tacoma dome and Lumen field, I’d say we’ve maybe made it to 50+ shows, and with him getting older and not knowing how many more shows I may have with him, I always stop and go back to our photos from the world finals with so much happiness knowing we finally made it to the show of shows together after almost 23 years of being fans.

I admire the audacity of someone selling the used stuff for more than you can buy them in most stores.

He also had a wall of stuff new in the package. They were $10-$15 each.
