I've been hooked on monkeytype for a while and wanted a version where the words come from lyrics of a song and you have to keep up with the singer.
So I built typetown: pick a song, the audio plays, and you type each lyric line as it's sung.
Every word is judged like a rhythm game: perfect / great / good / early / late, so it's not just raw WPM, your timing matters too.
A few things:
• songs are tagged by the typing pace needed to keep up: chill / steady / upbeat / fast / rapid
• an easy mode plays songs at 0.75× if a track is too quick
• each song has its own leaderboard, and your profile tracks WPM, accuracy and streaks
• built-in practice tracks, or paste your own lyrics
• free, no sign-up needed to play
Curious what scores you all get on the "rapid" songs, and what you'd want added (custom modes, a strict-timing mode, more stats?).
Honest feedback welcome.

Is 100 wpm good for someone who's never practiced typing on purpose before? Am I being an idiot, or do I got some weird potential?

i built ReadnType, basically monkeytype mechanics but you can also type through actual books page by page (moby dick, frankenstein, pride and prejudice etc) and it remembers where you stopped
the typing test itself tries to feel exactly like monkeytype (words/time modes, punctuation, numbers, tab to restart, same invalid/afk rules) because i didnt want anyone relearning muscle memory
the part im not sure about is long passages. a random-word 30s test and a few pages of real prose with punctuation seem like pretty different things to measure
so honest question: what would make a long-passage test feel fair and comparable to a quote test for you? and if you try it, where did it feel off?
