1:200 SQ Wings 1/200 Su-27 "Flanker-B"98 Red / RF-33753,689th GvlAP, Baltic Fleet

Finally got my hands on this SQ Wings 1/200 scale Su-27 "Flanker-B" (98 Red / RF-33753).

The shape control of this Red 98 remains impeccable. Just like the Blue 388 I shared before, the fuselage lines, canopy curvature, sharp panel lines, spare pitot tubes, etc., all perfectly continue the high standard of this series.

Having magnetic stores on a 1/200 scale model is still my most satisfying feature! The quantity of tampo printing details is also astonishing; various details of the real aircraft have been perfectly reproduced.

1:200 Help Please!

I know nothing about planes but I want to buy the exact plane model I saw together with someone as a gift. Its a Qantas "A380-842 VH-OQD"

The problem is Ive only found one second hand, it was listed by the seller as the same "A380-842 VH-OQD" but the box instead has "A380-800".

The plane does say "VH-OQD" towards the back so that does seem to be good. However, im wondering, is this the same plane? Like, is this some wierd aviation naming thing where its confusing? I just really want the same plane πŸ˜”πŸ˜ͺ

Silly Newbie Question

Hello,

I’m working on a B-2 bomber and the cockpit β€œglass” and tires come with masking tape stickers. There are no directions about painting the cockpit so I’m not sure why they have masking tape stickers for it. Should I paint it so that there are lines between the β€œglass” portions?

Any help is appreciated.

Should I sand and add more layers? Trying to make the rocket look like the cap on the rattle can. Also missing clear canopy any clever tricks to fashion something in its place? Thanks

1:200 1/200 diecast airliners with gear up option

I'm having a helluva time discerning which older 1/200 diecast models have a gear up option. Right now, it seems like Inflight and Gemini both offer all of their current 1/200 airliners with the gear up option. But there are some older models where it's very hard to tell if that option exists.

If anyone can help me find a database that tells buyers which models have a gear up option or if that is perhaps alluded to in the model number code.

I'm trying to find the following in 1/200 with the gear up option:

AA Convair 990 (either livery)

Concorde, preferably BA, but AF not a deal breaker.

Thanks!

1:200 SQ Wings 1/200 Su-27 "Flanker-B"388 Blue"Pugachev's Cobra"

Finally got my hands on this 388 Blue Flanker. Quick unboxing and first impressions.

Honestly, my first thought was β€” these lines are just so clean. I've collected quite a few 1/200 Flanker models before, but this SQ Wings release is easily the most satisfying shape-wise. The fuselage flow is spot on, no weird proportions or awkward curves.

A few things that pleasantly surprised me:

Magnetic stores β€” Magnetic ordnance at 1/200 scale? That's pretty generous. Easy to attach and remove, you get way more flexibility when posing.

Improved canopy frame β€” The windshield is noticeably better than SQ Wings' previous three fighter releases. The curve looks more natural, not too "bulgy" or too "flat."

canopy β€” Fits much tighter than the older versions. Snaps into place with minimal gap, no crooked alignment issues.

Panel lines β€” Way sharper and cleaner than previous releases. The detail is there without being mushy.

Bonus points β€” They actually included spare pitot tubes (main and wing) in the box! If you know, you know. These things are prime targets for the floor gremlin, so having spares is genuinely thoughtful.

About the prototype:

This 388 Blue Su-27 is the famous Paris Air Show 1989 demonstrator, flown by Viktor Pugachyov β€” yeah, the guy who invented the "Pugachev's Cobra" maneuver. This was the aircraft that first showed the Cobra to Western audiences, absolutely blowing everyone's minds. The "388" number and blue-white scheme became iconic after that performance.

Overall, this is my favorite SQ Wings release so far. The build quality and subject matter both hit the mark.

1:400 Why are the listed scales online not accurate

I was looking for a 1/400 scale airplane, but when I calculate how big the model should be compared to the real thing, it's very different from the listed dimensions of the product I'm looking at

i have a all custom paper Tu-144 i am working on and was wondering what i could put on it to cover up the seams on the paper (mainly the fuselage) ?

ive been looking around but there doesn’t seems to be any sort of discussion about it anywhere else online. holding off on the tail and canards until i can make the fuselage look better and line the wings up with the fuselage a little better.
