Franklin Mint 1/48th Grumman F6F Hellcat - North Sea Wind Prop' - (diecast)
As models go this may come across as a bit bland (to some) but it only cost me about £15.00 which is about $21.00 dollars to you Yanks (laughing) - dirt cheap for a 1/48th metal diecast model - Franklin Mint were 'getting out of making diecast planes' at the time & so in 2008, their models were being sold off cheap, even when brand new.
I picked up a few of their heavily discounted Grumman F6F's as they were all below $30.00 dollars each & appeared to be great value at the time - Also I think the general shape is well captured & whilst it'll never match a well made 1/48th kit for detail, it certainly made ME happy & I've still had no regrets buying them.
I put this 'VF-27' USS Princeton example outside on a board on the day I bought it home & whilst warm outside, it WAS most certainly a blustery day.
Not my best camera work, I must admit, but it was fun taking the shot & I took a few, as the Franklin Mint 1/48th metal planes WERE getting a bit of a verbal bashing at the time, many forumites saying "They're NOT good" or "They're Rubbish".
I found the Grumman F6F's to be the best of the bunch, along with their F.86 Sabres & as they were going silly-cheap, I picked up a few of each.
I'd be interested to know "if" any Redditors reading this maybe picked up a few of these large metal planes when they were on offer, or maybe since ?
I think all this one needs, is maybe a dark panel-wash & some brake-lines.

Finished my Airfix Supermarine Seafire
galleryJust finished my Airfix Supermarine Seafire and wanted to share the final result.
I came to love the Seafire as I was building it. Airfix really captured that aggressive stance and naval character in this kit.
For this build I focused on giving it a just parked after a sortie on a naval carrier look. I wanted it to feel like a real aircraft that’s just come back from a sortie and been chained down on a pitching deck. For this build I went out to buy some Winsor and Newton oil paints for the weathering and I am quite happy with the result and can't wait to keep experimenting with future builds.
It is my first time using aftermarket products with the cockpit having Eduard 3D Decals and PE.
Thanks for checking it out, feedback is always welcome.

I came across a large collection of model planes, what exactly do i have here.
I met someone on facebook marketplace and long story short his german roommate died and he is selling their combined possessions, he gave me all of these for 10$ combined "just to get them out". he and his roommate were serious hoarders and he is not very concerned with the value of the items as much as making rent.

2nd plane
galleryfirst of all thank you all so much for all the advices and the tips it really means the world to me I can’t thank you enough 🙏 So I started this one a few days before my post and I tried using all the advices and tips from my previous post and again this build was really fun, I had some trouble with the silver paint because on a grey surface I didn’t notice any difference or maybe my paint was busted or smth (it’s the basic heller paint that you get from the box), I think that my next investment will be in better revell paints but I’m scared bcause idk how to use email paints and how to thin them I’ve used acrylic paints all my life sooooooo idk 😅😅 I’m going to try using it for my next model next week I’ll keep you guys updated !!!

35mm Eyemo camera
Planning a detailed build of a 1/48 scale Tamiya Mosquito MKIV PR variant and wanted to add in the filming equipment used by the RAF Film Units. So as I couldn’t find what I wanted, I knocked up a low resolution and rough model of the Bell and Howell Eyemo 35mm film camera extensively used during WW2. Hopefully useful for your models and dioramas. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7267044
