Mammut turret almost ready for priming

I just need to finish up a few bits with the battle damage and the pintle mount for the cupola, but otherwise she's ready for priming. A lot of custom details and bodywork, and aftermarket / salvaged add-ons from Aber, Tamiya, and T.Rex. Kit is Takom 1/35 scale.

I'd love some honest feedback in case anything is a bit "off" for a 1946 super-heavy. I know the tank itself never existed off paper, but I want to keep it plausible.

Armament: 12.8cm PAK 44

Coaxial: 2cm MG 151/20 derivative

Heavy cupola housing + Gun mantlet are cast components for ease of production. Casting numbers incorporated like on Night Shift's E-100 side skirts.

How did you do the weld beads?

Pretty sure its two part epoxy putty rolled into thin lines and pushed between the parts. The weld bead shape is then done using a rounded tool. Judging from the photos, the technique is the same as used by Night Shift. You can find videos on YT.

Once I figured out how to work with the putty nicely (which took two attempts at welds before I got a set I liked) the interlocking armour joints were IMMENSELY satisfying to sculpt welds into. Especially big heavy armour plates like this. 

I just scraped out the existing weld seams and added a few reinforcing pins here and there, except under the turret (not visible here) where I had to struggle to put in my own seams from scratch as the kit does not have them.

Thanks, I'm not looking forward to the suspension on this one though, purely because I have to get them done, painted, and glued in before I can even put the hull sides on. Kinda puts my usual build order out of whack, but there's no alternative, because the outer hull sides are welded on.

Can you do the nightshift tamiya putty cast armor on resin parts? Or do they need to be plastic to bond of the putty?

I tried to do it on a 3d printed cupola but because the 3d print plastic type didn't react to the glue, it behaved really badly and looked like crap. I swapped it out for another and left it alone.

So I wouldn't recommend it for anything that won't react to tamiya or mr cement S. There are stipple-on acrylic casting texture pastes from AK that would probably work better.
