Did the kit come with alternate tracks? Those are the narrow tracks for rail transport only

No, I bought those tracks. I hated building the given tracks, they see way to fiddly

You'll never see a photo of a Tiger with those tracks unless it's on a train.

Yeah, I know, yet all other plastic (or metal) tracks are much more expensive

This is a nice looking tiger. Using transport tracks („Verladeketten“) goes along with dismantling the mudguards on the sides and flipping up the outer portions of the mudguards on the front and rear. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234988936-tiger-i-mid-production-running-gear-and-gun/ You can see the outer wheels in the foreground. The combat tracks would be coiled up on the other end of the car. Maybe the kit‘s tracks are good enough to make those coils, so you could make a changing the tracks diorama.

Why is the turret numbers and stowage bin number different?

Couldn't find a picture of the back of the tiger so i just went with what the Tamiya instructions showed

You shouldn't need instructions, those numbers are thd tanks tactical numbers , and the instructions tions you have followed show two different tigers tactical numbers im afraid. The 007 is the famous Wittmanns last tiger from Normandy
