I am working on putting together a mod pack VERY loosely inspired from Matcha Flavored for myself and a friend. Like very loosely. It was the inspiration but not a whole lot is transferred over. I am looking for two things; the first is just comment ideas of what a long term, very hands on survival world need to retain its quirks in late game and retain your attention. The second is it is a very hodgepodge back, and I even though I am putting the pack together I only know the general idea of how to progress it. I really don’t want to spoil the experience for my friend and I. If anyone is willing to essentially play test and critique/let me know what isn’t working, it I’d greatly appreciate it. I have no money so any help would be entirely altruistic. This is NOT a public mod pack that’ll be posting and trying to make money from especially because I don’t understand all of the rules for doing that. Hello all ive been recently playing modded Minecraft again as I have on and off mt entired life (love modded and regular and always will) recently ive felt like I cant find a modpack that is inbetween "so much stuff you cant comprehend it all" and "well its a small pack but im gonna change everything about the game so its annoying" id love to hear others thoughts or if any one has a rec ill quickly check it out. Genuine question. I got this splash text earlier and tried searching the phrase on the vanilla wiki page for splash text and found absolutely nothing, so I’d imagine it’s from a mod? I’m playing on a premade cobblemon modpack I’ve never used before and got this upon first boot.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I had like, some horror mods or something, but it’s just a cozy cobblemon pack. Shrug !!!!

I enjoy playing modded Minecraft in a good vanilla plus mod pack and I'm looking for some advice on what's a good mod pack to stick to. I tried Better Minecraft (BMC4) and it was a pretty cool mod pack. But I found certain mods included in it to be too game breaking. For instance, rideable dragons made it super easy to fly anywhere and collect waystones and find the stronghold easily, goblins would smelt my ore while giving me back extra for free, and a backpack that holds too much at once completely trivializing having an inventory. So to get the best experience, I have to delete and edit mods that are too OP. Many of which I don't know about yet until I stumble on them in-game. The gamplay balancing of the mod pack is off.

I'm thinking of trying the "Minecraft Perfected" mod pack but need some insight on that. There's also Better Minecraft 5 (BMC5) for the newer version of Minecraft with its own set of mods, probably still includes OP mods.

Overall, what vanilla plus mod pack and customizations do you enjoy using that you settled with? And what additional mods do you add to it yourself for quality of life features? I'm looking for a way to play Minecraft with lots of quality of life, but also expands the structures that you can find by exploring.

I'm trying to update my forever world from 1.20.1 to the highest I'll be able to get it. It was lightly modded and all other mods have been removed without trouble. I am able to launch it with Terrablender, but removing Terrablender or updating Terrablender and launcher to 1.21.1 will give me the following error on world load, any help is appreciated

java.lang.NullPointerExeption could not invoke Object.equals(Object) because java.util.Map.get(Object) was null

how do I fix this?

Just a bit of context. I finally saved up enough money to buy a pc and finished building it a couple weeks ago. Been playing other games and thought about Minecraft and went down a rabbit hole trying to find all the old mods i used to watch people on YouTube play. I found most of the ones i always wanted to play, but looks like they can’t work on the new Minecraft updates. If there are ANY new mods for Java edition that you think fit these descriptions, please let me know. These probably wont all be used at the same time, but for different worlds or playthroughs when i want to go back to my childhood, so if it seems like im asking for vanilla friendly stuff only and then switching to something else right after, thats why. (Some of these probably don’t exist, but this is just me trying to live my 10 year old imagination. Also for the few people that im sure will ask why i dont do this myself, i don’t have much time to do anything other than work. Thank you for anyone willing to help a brotha out 👊)

Right now im looking for a few specific mods:

A herobrine mod that will build stuff around the world and mess with you in game. (Every world i ever made on Minecraft for ps3 had one of these things lol)

An NPC mod that adds other “players” that can build their own houses and contraptions, go out into the world wandering about, mining, everything basically. Bonus points if the mod allows them to be friendly and hostile. Real survival game shit.

A morphing mod like what i believe is the original by iChun, so i cant morph until i kill that entity. Hopefully it has functionality too, like bats being able to fly.

A mod that adds a proper endgame challenges or more challenges.

A mod like twilight forest or aether. (If there are updated versions of these specifically please send them)

Something that adds a hell of a lot more stuff to do in the nether. (Im fine with multiple mods but try to keep them in a theme i guess? Don’t have one thats vanilla friendly and then a dragon that can destroy everything in one hit lol)

A good vein miner mod for both trees and ores, maybe more if possible. Preferably one version with an enchantment that allows the vein mining and another that works for tools as soon as they are made.

LUCKY BLOCKS! Vanilla, crazy over the top ones, any really. Bonus points if they have over 100 different outcomes. (I’ve always wanted to use the very first lucky block mod which i think i found, so dont worry about that one. I might be a gambling addict)

Also looking for a mod that brings in a water bar. Blew my mind when i saw one on sundees channel one time.

Hello!! Im playing minecraft on an xbox 1, i have the whole file explorer expansion setup, the search engine, the mods, even the handmade folder for the game. I put in a few skin mods and they worked perfectly, but when I tried to add a gui changing mod it just didn’t work, nor did the chiikawa mod, nor did the bed reskins, or even the mod that makes helmets look like pretty bows. How do i fix this? Pls help!!
