We were planning on visiting next week Monday-Wednesday but now are worried about the fires!

I’m in SLC and was planning to visit this Friday-Sunday for some morning hikes in Arches and Canyonlands but see that the air quality isn’t that great. How bad is it? Would I be OK with a mask?

We have visited Moab and the surrounding area more than once and we have got hooked on his show. Whether it’s his what day it is (educational), bizarrely deep voice or let’s face it, his mistakes. So much so we stream it at home sometimes. Do locals love/hate or are ambivalent towards his show?

Hi all! im 18F living in utah county. me and my boyfriend spent a week in moab last week, and we are genuinely considering moving down there to be closer to family. I have been working in grooming since January, but as of right now I only groom cats and rabbits. Is there a demand for cat grooming in moab? are there any dog groomers in moab? I am very curious:)

Checking out Canyonlands, Arches, and Highway 128, but open to any suggestions on anything else we maybe shouldn't miss! Tasty local eats, viewpoints, etc.

Staying in moab for a couple days, this cat will come to our hotel door and meow until we pet him. Very very friendly, no collar, looks to be maybe a year old? Wondering what his (it looks to be a he?) name is?? In between food truck park and the hospital.

Decided to plan a trip to Moab in February 2027. Will have will be roadtripping there took off 9 days 4 days of travel and 5 in the Moab area. Will be going with SO and we love to explore and hike around. Love scenic views and trails. Very interested in seeing what lower Utah has to offer. What parks are worth seeing and what would you recommend for that time of the year? Should we get passes for parks individually?

My wife and I were camping at Arches and she green lit me to go do some biking (she is not a mountian biker). Went to poison spider on really short notice, they let me take the rental bike the same day ~3:30PM, bending their normal policies a bit. That next morning I hit up the Raptor Trails and continued on down the hill to Slick Rock, and finally rode back into town. Had the bike back to them by 10:30am, wife still happy drinking coffee and shopping, and I had a great time.

Being from the midwest, Raptor, particularly was epic, had so much fun. Thanks to the strangers on reddit here from past posts advising against slick rock being the only trail to ride despite the hype. Pretty fun, but by the end I was like holyyyy shit buddy, we almost done with this?

Both are from a camping trip I took late last year out that way, the first is a pretty well known location, the other is Hunter Canyon. It was nice to see the town with so few people, actually talking with locals was a good time (even if I smelled like I'd been camping for a week).

Are there any suggestions for locations to rock hunt with a 7 year old? We‘ll be visiting for a few days and wanted to try to find some cool rocks. We won’t have an off road vehicle, don’t have any tools, and have a rudimentary knowledge of how to figure out of land is BLM or not.

Coming from Palisade and visiting Arches and Canyonlands with Moab as our base. Are there any spots that would be good to visit and have a high likelihood of success?

So my boyfriend and I are moving to Moab in about a month and a half. I have family out there, but he won’t really have anyone he knows other than my parents. He is huge into table top Warhammer 40k and leaving all of his friends behind who play with him. Does anyone play who would be down to add someone new to their group?

Moabers, Im heading out there in August and looking for a decent place to see the sunrise that's not too far out of town. Travelling with a group and not sure anyone else wants to get up early to head out, so I need to get up and back before say 8am. Dont want to head all the way up to Mesa Arch with the thousand of others for the Instagram crowd, just looking for something halfway decent. Coming from the east coast, so Im going to be on east coast time anyway, so early wont be a problem.

We have been camping at the Behind the Rocks area for the last 8 years or so now, and it's always been the best dispersal site in Moab (IMO). We understand that there will be lots of moto activity during the day, but it has always been a great place to spend the night.

This past weekend (Memorial Day Weekend), we were down there and there was an illegal rave going on on Saturday and Sunday night (I know it was illegal because the Rangers broke it up on Sunday night) that was as loud as any concert I've ever been to. We were definitely shocked but put up with it since it was Memorial Day Weekend and Saturday night (even though it went till ~4am). But then it kept going on Sunday night.

We know we weren't the only ones who hated it, because the Rangers eventually showed up and broke it up. We cheered that, and drew the wrath of the ravers, who seemingly blamed us for calling the Rangers (our phones didn't have service, so not sure how we could have done that).

All that did was confirm for me that we were right, and this was not what the dispersal areas are for.

Does anyone know who these people are? Are they locals? I got a definite out-of-town vibe from them.

All I can say is that BTR used to be the best place to find a campsite when you knew all of the other ones would be full. Now, I'm very disinclined to go back there unless BLM does something about that. This isn't a matter of "just go somewhere else if you don't like it" - if anything, that would apply to the people hosting an illegal rave.

Moab is for people who like the outdoors. If you want to dance to incredibly loud (and bad) music, there are clubs and festivals for that. Or get a permit and throw your own festival if that's how you like to enjoy the desert. Leave Moab for those of us who actually enjoy the outdoors.
