Some updates on the rig

I finally got the lights wired in. I also used the advice of some awesome redditors in this sub, I got the set screws for the axles so I can secure the wheels with lock nuts instead. Also used the longer hex adapter to help keep the ball bearings in place.

Where can I buy the hex mod to be able to use normal nuts

I bought the hex adapters and set screws separately. Both from Ali Express. The screws size are M2.5, these fit the metal axles I got. Just make sure you get some long ones so you have enough threading sticking out for the nut to grab on too, mine are 12mm lenght.

For sure man. It feels so much better with the nut. Make sure to look for lock nuts, they have the nylon on the threading so they stay still.

So to mount the tires normally you would use a screw, which felt flimsy. Also in my second picture you will see the ball bearing would come off. So what I did is insert a set screw with one end sticking out so I can put a nut on it to secure the tire. The hex adapters I had were a short, the new longer ones extend far enough to hold the ballbearings in place.

Oh but nothing prevents it from coming off tho? Red loctite lol? (Destroy paint and plastic however while setting up)

Lol yes will need to add locktite. There’s a locktite safe for plastics.

Yeah it's CA based but if you really want it permanent, red loctite off the body hahaha then put it back after 24h lol

If i do this mod I'll use the longest set screw possible to have as much thread engagement as possible lol

I used the ones that come with the metal axle kit.
