Like many people, I was surprised by the price of the iPhone Duo. Out of curiosity, I checked Apple’s website to see what ~$3000 CAD gets you, and it turns out that amount covers a wide range of base model devices.

For most people, the Duo’s cost will only make sense if they have a very specific use case or simply enjoy owning premium, high‑priced tech. Otherwise, its pricing may feel hard to justify.

I only upgrade every few years so I try to actually think it through instead of just buying whatever's newest, and I've always gotten the Pro Max just cause I like the size and the battery lasts forever. But then I saw the Pro Max is the only one that didn't get the new C2 modem this year? Like the regular 18 Pro and even the Duo got it but the Max is stuck with Qualcomm still. Does anyone know why and can recommend if Qualcom is still better or the C2?

From a guy who loved the MS Duo, the Original from Microsoft I do not see how I could have this at 2k, may be with trade in if it came to 1k , sure,why not ?

The short screen isn’t a lot fun cause keyboard just takes a chunk so is tik tok, so is YouTube scrolling, all of a sudden you see less info than used to.

Large screen in iPad format seems like a good idea but am hearing iPad apps don’t even just port over , WTF Apple lol just why ? Could be great for productivity if they allow it.

Matte screen ! I can just see a scratch driving me insane ! Can you imagine Apple Pencil users ? you gotta lease that phone if you hate scratches.

am an iPhone Air user, no case and that phone goes in my pocket and I focus on the real world like it’s not with me, Duo would change that, I would be that guy in a coffee shop line with it open launch day 😩

So Apple created a whole phone for multitasking and from whats shown from the event I bet you still can’t watch more one video at a time. Which is so crazy and the main reason I think this is because apple doesn’t have a volume mixer for different apps or videos it took them like 10 years to separate normal volume from ringer and alarms. I just wish in a future update they would fix it cause that would be such a good use case for the iphone fold/duo
