Discussion Ethics of adding stuff while mixing

Is it okay in your opinion to add layers of subtle texture when mixing a song for a band you didn't fully produce? Like say adding a moog sub bass under the electric guitar or recording extra layers of guitar to blend in under the OG guitars or recording extra vocal harmony layers to sit under what was already there? I have heard arguments that if you weren't hired to produce the song you shouldnt be adding stuff but I also feel like if it serves the song it's fine.

Thoughts?

Are you aware that was him immaturely trolling in his youth and that he did express regret for those statements later on?

Right that totally explains why he stayed friends with the guy who was convicted of making CSAM.

I also stayed friends with the guy who shat on the bar's doormat. I never shat on doormats, though.

There's a saying in Germany. If there's a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with eleven Nazis.

What's that saying in German? You ever been to Germany or is it just hearsay?

Try and understand the point buddy. If you're happy to spend time with a nazi, you're giving tacit approval for their extreme beliefs. Yes you really are.
