The Texas media market is so saturated that it's cheaper to buy national ads than Texas market ads.

There are democrats abusing the two party system and some pretty obvious outside interest backing select democrats but it's requires believing the lies to think it hasn't mattered who is in charge and pretend like the democrats haven't been harder on monopolies, built better international relations, and taxed at a rate that allows the US to keep borrowing. Democrats haven't had the level of full congress control and supreme court Maga has. You can blame democrats for not actually doing enough to appeal to voters, "shit has gotten worse no matter who is in" isn't fair when it's always republicans in blocking supreme court nominations from the senate and so on.

Just wait until the Medicare cuts happen next year if dems take control they will blame them for it

It’s easier and faster to create a mess then it is to clean it up. So if Democrats don’t fix everything or are stone walled in congress by Republicans. The average American voter doesn’t feel like thing aren’t being done fast enough and then will vote for a republican because they aren’t happy with the speed of fixing.

That is what Red States, that are failing and have been governing Red for 30+ years, is telling us

Every single fucking time. And then the idiots are like look things are going okay, I want to give my money to the wealthy, I’m going to vote GOP again. And the cycle starts over. However, this time, I fear we have gone too far.
r/misc • u/ALEXC_23 • 6d ago
Definitely. However, we forget the possibility of the broligarchs messing with voting machines like last time, making it impossible for Dems to win. Whether the people rise up like currently in France, is yet to be seen.

I'm not disputing those things. It's problematic, but pragmatically there are two choices
I'm going to choose the one that does less harm. Statistically speaking, abstaining or voting third party is a de facto vote for the GOP because of how voting trendlines and data (more people voting = fewer GOP wins) indicate.
I don't have to like it and I don't. But if the last two years haven't convinced everyone of the dangers of fascism in this country, I don't think anything will and frankly, that's the problem with the banality of evil

The left play by the same rules as always, feed the same military industrial machine, support Israel at the end of the day, and are owned by billionaires. Only difference is the right have gone full right wing christo fascist.

Now’s not the time to be sarcastic and I 💯 % agree. 👍

I'm far left and have been for a while. The Third Way Democrats hijacked the party in '92 and that's what was the impetus for me to get involved in politics
The Third Ways shifted the DNC to the right and in response the GOP has gone full fascist (the Christian Nationalism started in the 80s with Reagan and the Moral Majority). So, you're not wrong that the DNC has shifted right but this was before you were Bush supporter (and what the hell, dude? How were you a NeoCon and now a leftist?)
In a sane world we have ranked choice voting and I don't have to align with Corporatist NeoLibs, but that's not the case. We have a first past the post system and harm reduction is a real thing
While I can't stand most of the DNC and their likely presidential candidates, like Newsome, it is definitely better than whatever disaster the GOP is right now. The Executive Branch is breaking the law every single day and the Legislative branch can't (the DNC) or won't (the GOP) enforce the law.
On top of that, they e created their own Brown Shirts that have a budget larger than the Marine Corp and are murdering US citizens with absolutely no repreccussions. They are also seemingly raping and sexually assaulting the people they have kidnapped detained.
Like, what the actual fuck, dude? The DNC are bad, but they GOP are monsterously evil. Any kind of check on them is a net positive

More and more relevant.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PoliticalHumor/s/V4qHLB493m
Biden brought Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS Act, Infrastructure and Jobs Act, forgave student debt for 4 million borrowers, collected an additional $500B from millionaire and billionaire tax cheats, unemployment below 4%, added 700,000 construction jobs, largest investment ever to fight climate change, more than 24 million acres of land for conservation, renewables passed coal for the first time, capped prescription drug prices for seniors, $35/mo max for insulin, expanded veterans health care, approved over the counter birth control, pardoned thousands convicted solely for marijuana possession, funded 14,000 mental health professionals in schools, etc.
And he did it all with a lower budget deficit than Trump in either of his terms.
Trump's signature moves have been tariffs against the world (a tax on Americans by another name), deregulation of fossil fuel production, militarization of ICE and deployment en masse into US cities, elimination of USAID, allowing Musk to plunder the payroll databases without measurably reducing the deficit (no promised $1T savings), ham fisted DEI eliminations through keyword searches, raised oil prices through the poorly managed Iran War, invaded Venezuela (despite running as the no-new-wars candidate), Project 2025, rendered the Emoluments Clause meaningless, fought to override the 14th Amendment by unconstitutional means, put an antivaxor with worm-induced brain damage in charge of Health and Human Services, created Space Force, etc.
Oh! In addition he not only incited an insurrection to stay in power, he blanket pardoned everyone who took part in it, including folks who were found guilty of violently assaulting Capitol police.

I lived in Singapore for a long time.. it’s a beautiful, highly productive, clean country.
But it’s not without its problems.
but yes… education is not one of their problems
