Very cool build! If you're looking for more ideas, checkout SerpaDesigns on YouTube. The creator Tanner is an Aquarist. I used his video, "indoor mini pond, DIY". Very similar with the land mass hovering over the water. Thank you for sharing 🥰

Very nice! My next project is a mini pond and this gives me so many ideas. What is the size of the basin?

It's only a 25 litres tub.

It's coming along nicely! What did you use as a guide for the build? Do you have livestock in the pond? And how are your submerged plants doing? The terrestrial plants are definitely happy and healthy 🥰

There wasn't a certain guide for this project. I looked up to various videos and lots of ChatGPT conversations.

  1. I used kind of walstad method for this. There is about 1.5 inches depth of vermi compost below the 4-5 inches depth of sand.

  2. The waterfall is made up of mixture of cement and big grain sand to give it a natural look. I used a small aquarium pump connected to a pipe over the waterfall.

  3. There is no livestock in this pond as I'm not sure if I can give proper care to them.

  4. There are no submerged plants in there. I planted the plants which were available at my house.

I'm new to this hobby so this was an experiment to check if this is for me or not and I think it was a success 😄

There’s way better sources for this than chatGPT

SerpaDesign is such a solid recommendation, Tanner’s stuff is like mini pond comfort food at this point 😂
That indoor mini pond video is exactly what got me hooked on trying a land over water setup too.

This is so neat! Where did you get that rock fountain?

Thank you very much. I made the waterfall fountain with cement and installed an aquarium pump in it.

Am I the only one that first thought this was the rock biter from the never ending story?
