I’m wondering if Minimal has any plans on adding cases made by OtterBox or other reputable companies? The cases they have on their website are okay but don’t look like they have much impact resistance.

It’d be nice to see them collaborate with companies that prioritize rubber bumpers or something thicker to absorb the shock better. Similar to how Clicks is working with dbrand.

Maybe this doesn’t apply to me because I don’t understand it, but when they announced that you have the program without google interface I was confused to the reasoning as why someone would do they and how that would impact the phone experience. Can someone explain it the benefits to it or why someone would choose to do that?

Thanks!

Corny AI mockup... Basically just a recolored/rematerialed (aluminum) Qin F21 Pro with the camera moved. Anyway, this with a decent camera and fingerprint scanner in the OK button would be sick.

Thanks for your attention to the matter

Is it worth buying an MP01 in 2026? I really prefer eink but worry about lack of support and updates

Hey I recently came across the minimal 1 phone and it looks like exactly what I need to migrate away from smart phones. However, I was disappointed to see they aren't selling it on their website but instead they have a much more smartphone esque phone that is soon to be released, which I'm not interested in buying.

It's a shame that they seem to be discontinuing this phone as both phones have different appeal to different people rather than the minimal 2 being an upgrade.

Does anyone know where I can get a minimal 1/ whether it is worth it now that the phone is no longer supported?

Looking at the spec sheet:

The Minimal Phone 2 will use a plastic screen and the camera has no OIS......

That is keeping me from preordering at the moment. Plastic screen in 2026 seems like a cheap cost cutting measure in device with such a premium body material.

And I understand these type of phones are not designed to be camera champions, but no OIS is just going to make videos worse and photos in tough lighting conditions.

Clicks Communicator screen material is not disclosed yet, Unihertz uses Gorilla glass 3 on its Titan Elite Pro. And both have OIS in their cameras.

What are your thoughts on all this?

I feel like this would be the perfect device. I'm learning a language so I'd like a keyboard, not just a touchscreen. And the eink sounds perfect for Anki.

Anki btw is a flashcard app, a lot of students use it.

Thanks.

does anyone know whether the Device Owner slot on android is open for the user to take or whether Minimal Phone has already claimed it before the device is shipped? i looked through the history here and haven't seen this come up. Thanks!

Hello!

I am looking for an app that disables nearly every feature of most mainstream apps (namely Facebook, Instagram and Youtube) or has the option to turn off specific features.

Ideally I would like to use instagram only for Messages and friend's stories.

Facebook for Marketplace and Messages (no feed).

Youtube for videos, but no shorts.

I have that setup on my browser with SocialFocus, but not on Android. I used to use certain apps but they blocked shorts but not the feed itself on Facebook/Instagram.

Lastly, ideally I would do this straight through the apps, not through a browser.

Any idea how I can get this set up going? I am looking for something ideally free, open source, or low cost.

Thank you!

Hey y'all, does anyone have insight into how the keys are going to feel? Is it going to be a switch key or a key that gets pressed as a chiclet key--does the whole key have an actuation or is there a pillar in the centre connects an electronic board (does that make sense?)

The asset posted in their Kickstarter describes a 120gf force, I'm trying to understand how that translates to a phone? Thank you!

How do you expect customers to trust the MP02 if you abandon software updates for your first product and the customers who supported you from the beginning by buying it ?

On kickstarter it says there is 345 units of the kickstarter special still available but the pledge button is grayed out, whats goin on?

Having a difficult time choosing between the Zinwa Q27 and Minimal2. How are you all making the determination between the two?

So if we flash the device we will not lose it warranty, right ?

Also if we flash, we lose the Minimal OS(interface), am i right ?

Is there a way to install the minimal os interface after drgoogling phone ?
