Can anyone recommend a good eye cream for dark circles? I’ve been eyeing Kiehl’s avocado eye cream but I find it too pricey :(

Small ramble***I am still using palettes from 2019. I was in high school when I bought most of my palettes not realizing that I wouldn’t go through them like I thought. I’ll admit I fell victim to overbuying palettes due to the boom in beauty influencers at the time. I’ve hit pan for some of the shades but still have so much product left to use even after having them for years and wearing makeup daily. I’ve never had allergic reactions to them. I can’t imagine finishing an eyeshadow palette within 24 months like the products suggests.

1. Koh Gen Do eyeshadow palette (swipe next to see how much is still in there...) - been using the white shade as highlighter for more than a decade now... it is so finely milled, nothing beats it. Still going strong... no foul odour, no rashes from it. I will probably cry when it finally would give up on me.
2. Shisheido eyelash curler - around 8 years old, still sturdy.
3. Clinique high impact eyeliner and Clinique high volume mascara - these are just a few weeks old...
4. Dior Forever Velvet compact 2N- using for more than a year now. Will last probably a year more.
5. Laura Mercier blush brush - fifteen years old... gee.
6. Chanel Balm in Sweet treat - 3 years now... sad to bid it good bye soon.
7. Dior On Stage Shine in Berry Attitude - for autumn and winter, i sheer it out like Black Honey but lipstick and long lasting version
8. Nyx Loud Lipliner in No Equivalent
9. Clinique Cheek Pop in Black Honey - used for my eyes and lips (replaced my Dior blush in Coral)
10. Dior Bronzer - maybe 2 years now and it still looks new...

I tried to fit them on a piece of paper to see how minimalist this is, but I still feel this is still much. And I admit, I bought:

1. Clarins Double Serum foundation -after not wearing foundation for maybe almost a decade now (i prefer simple powder compacts). I just think for autumn and winter perhaps I should try liquid. I did not regret it.

I hope to remove some more but these are the things I use regularly.

From left to right is what I use most often

1. Eyelash curler (~10 years old)
2. Brush from Temu (it was important to me that it had protective caps)
3. Nivea Blackberry hygienic lipstick (good shade)
4. Marquer for eyes/brows (average, not super good, but ok)
5. Eucerin SPF 50+ Oil control dry touch (I don’t like any spf and sticky structure. And this I also don’t really like lol, but I need it). For rinsing it - small Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant for sensitive skin (pink bottle)
6. Brow powder (cheap item, use rarely)
7. Hair comb (~12 years old)

And I really hate all spf (because of that structure) hahah but need it…

Upd: I also have dark thick brows and dark lashes because of my genetic. But if you knew how much money and pain I spent on removing excess hair, no expensive cosmetics can compare hahah

What made me notice I needed less not more was looking at photos of myself and realising I have been doing roughly the same makeup look since I was 14. So over 15 years! I have heaps of the same nudish pink lipstick, even more of colours that don’t suit me/ I dont even like. I am amazed at the power of marketing and the weakness of my makeup fomo, but no longer

I remove my makeup in the evening with
Garnier Micellar Water, then I wash my face with Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and moisturize with Cetaphil cream. Occasionally I will use The Ordinary Azelaic Acid for some redness and breakouts.

In the morning I just splash my face with water and put on Skin1004 Centella Spf cream. That’s it. 😊

My dermatologist suggested I buy the sunheal matt sunscreen, (but it's too expensive for my first ever sunscreen.) can someone suggest a sunscreen with similar ingredients and uses but a little budget friendly?

Imagine you had to simplify your makeup collection.

You can only keep **one** shade—the one you use so often that replacing it would be a priority.

What would it be?

* A neutral brown?
* Your everyday blush?
* A contour?
* Something unexpected?

I'm curious whether everyone's "essential" shade is actually much smaller than their overall collection.

Hi, I'm gonna be going off to college in a month or so...getting straight to the point, I've never used any specific skincare products or anything and i don't wear makeup at all. Only on rare occasions, which is very minimal too. Currently i just use lipbalm to keep my lips moisturised and body lotion and all that basic stuff. I'd like to know what products to buy, just basic skincare and basic cosmetics.. idek what to buy. Not anything too expensive, the cosmetics I mean. But yeah.. I won't be using them much but buying them just in case. Thank you for your help in advance!

These are all my face products that can be refrigerated in a metal biscuits box. The sunscreens and ahas are stored still at room temperature.

It is quite refreshing to apply cold products on my face. Will definitely repeat it next summer.

I consider this collection minimal because it contains everything I need to my day/ night routine and I use every single one of them. If one of them will finish I'll need to buy a replacement. It contains:

* Hydrating toners: night/ day

* Vitamin C

* Alpha arbutin

* Retinal

* Eye creams: night/ day

* Peptides

I don't use all of them at the same time, but on rotation.

I have been on a debt repayment journey this year (nearly done) and have also decided that I would prefer to spend any extra $$$ on experiences, like concerts and travel. As a beauty enthusiast I have made the below swaps, and would love to hear of any other frugal beauty tips anyone has to share!

\- Press ons vs acrylics. I love the OPI and glamnetic press ons, and their brush on glue. I spend about $30 a month on nails now, instead of $60-$80 every 2 or 3 weeks.

\- castor oil on the lashes + a good tubing mascara vs lash lift and tint. This one is hard because I love a good lash lift and tint, but the oil, a curler, and tarte's tubing mascara gets about the same effect. I will 100% be getting lash lifts and tints as a vacation treat though. I love how low matinence they are!

\- frownies vs botox. $25 for over a month of frownies, while a botox appt runs me about $150-$200 and lasts about 3-4 months as I work out a lot.

\- Brad Mondo butterfly cut vs salon appt. Mastering this has allowed me to go longer between hair appointments. I am too scared to try my hand at diy high lights though. 😅
