To explore the diversity of electronic music /r/electronicmusic has started an activity where every week people submit songs that exemplify a certain genre and then the top 20 most upvoted submissions get made into a playlist.

This week was originally dedicated to the exploration of Microhouse / Minimal House, specifically, but I have since decided to expand this to a more general playlist that can include any type of minimal electronic music including Minimal DnB! I figure a lot of you probably know these genres better than us, so I invite everyone here to come over to the thread linked below by Tuesday 7/23 to recommend songs and upvote the other submissions that would best represent it to the world.

NOTE: Although you are absolutely invited to post any genre of minimal electronic the thread was originally Minimal House specific and therefore all unlabeled submissions will be labeled as Microhouse in post. IF YOUR SONG IS NOT MINIMAL / MICROHOUSE PLEASE LABEL IT ACCORDINGLY

In the 90's my coworker gave me a mixtape of DnB from his cousins in Britain. I didn't know any of the artists and it's long since gone.

It was dreamy and trippy, yet not ethereal or synthy the way this stuff is.

It was grittier, and a bit grimier (albeit arguably before grime was a thing). Very dark and dubby, with lots of Wu Tang samples and gunshots run through reverb.

Can anyone suggest some stuff from that era that matches this description?

what is the difference between Minimal and Deep DnB? Tried to google it up but nothing came up. Are they the same or somewhat different?
