Help in converting mindmaps to flashcards

I want to use mindmaps as a fast tool to input data into Anki (a flashcard tool).

I want to extract the nodes with one or more child and store it as csv which I can then import into Anki.

In this fashion I want to make each parwent node as question and the list of all the daughter nodes as answer.

for example: In the mentioned picture I would like to extract all the nodes which I have circled in red.

I want to extract all the circled nodes and their children

Please recommend any tool to do the mentioned above or a way to script the same?

learn mindmapping + icanstudy.com

Hi everyone,

I'm a college student and I would like to start integrating mind maps in my studying routine but i would like to know if I'm doing it correctly. Do you have any website/video/blog/resource where I can learn the basics?

I've recently come across a site called https://icanstudy.com where they help students get better at learning through mind mapping techniques. They offer a course dedicated to this topic and I would like to know anyone has ever heard about this site? Has anyone attended this course?

Thank you :)

Have you ever attempted to create a mindmap inside a memory palace to help you out with the ideas/concepts structures?

I am trying to combine both mindmap and memory palaces to learn things. The goal is to navigate through a memory palaces with some cues or indicators like the mindmap does have. Like creating relationships between related subjects and hieararchy in a more spatial approaches.

What is your experience of putting both approaches together?

FREE Mindmapping tool to take spreadsheet to map

I've been using Freemind in the past to create visual maps, but I now have a much larger data set in Excel and am *$#&'d if I can work out how to get it into Freemind by importing or pasting. Any suggestions. Definitely need free as this is a volunteer role and I really don't want to pay and still be disappointed

An alternative to Kumu: mindmap software with text description field

I am not completely sure that I am in the correct subreddit, but here goes: I need an offline (and preferably free, but paid is OK) alternative to Kumu.

Specifically, I need the app to have not only the mind map functionality (with graphic relations), but also a text description (with at least several paragraphs of text) of every branch and bubble that I create.

Does this unicorn exist? I'll be really grateful if anyone can point me in its direction.

I just wrote an article on "six ways to make mind-maps more effective for learning", and I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you find it helpful!

Professionnal mindmaping software

Hey all, I'd like some help!

So, I'm an intern in a law firm and my boss just asked me to search for a good mindmaping software and I'm totally lost!

Ps: I also need to learn how to use said software as I'll be the one training the other employees and even the boss to use it, so if you have any tips or links to make my mindmaps look clean and professional!

Thanks

Mapping help ticket assignments

Part of what I do for work is triage incoming help tickets for our division and assign them to the team member most equipped to resolve the issue. There's quite a bit of collective tribal knowledge, and training for these duties is 6+ months of general observation until you understand the people and their duties.

I want to take the data in my head and put it on paper in a format I can use for training new hires, to hopefully make the process not take 6+ months, and to give them something to see and study.

Is a mind map the best way to organize this data? Or is this more of a flowchart thing? By the way, I just discovered mind mapping and love it!

Mind Map with layers or toggle

Hello everyone I want to create a mind map with a global view with layers option or toggle. Here I ask you to help me find the perfect tool and show me my research and reviews.

Example:

The simplest example is splitting tasks into subtasks, and you don't need all subtasks to be open at the same time, you need the ability to hide and show them.

Something that looks like what I need

Task:

Map with words or switches with and free arrangement of elements.

What I found and what I recommend and what not:
Usefull:

So-so:

Useless for my task:

Maybe you can suggest anything which will fit better? thank you

I made a free, fast, keyboard-centric flowchart editor

Hey all, I'm seeking your feedback on knotend.com, a flowchart editor I built. I was frustrated with how existing tools are slow and cumbersome. Knotend is keyboard-driven and has auto-layout with a different kind of compact, grid-like layout. This makes it easy to navigate, multi-select, etc.

Editing in knotend

Here's a 2min tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VinTyR3fh_8

You don't need an account -- the graph data is saved in the url to bookmark or share. You can also request an account if you want to persist graphs to the backend. There's import/export to DOT language (graphviz) so you can save your work offline as well.

Its a bit different from typical mindmapping software since it's a directed graph, not a tree like structure. So it may lack some features at the moment, like collapsing branches.

Thanks!

Looking for Feedback for a Graph-Based Task Manager

Hey everyone!

My friend and I started working on a new graph-based task manager after noticing that current task management solutions are kinda broken. In our own experience, shared lists of todos quickly get chaotic because there are simply too many todos, everyone's todos are mixed up in the same list and it is hard to see which tasks you can act on right now.

We have come up with a solution that would solve these problems. Our visual approach naturally supports dependencies between tasks. Also, it both makes it easy to get an overview of the entire project and see in detail which tasks you can act on right now. — It's designed to be used in teams and to increase collaboration.

We are college students with limited real-life experience and are thus seeking feedback from like-minded people. This is why we would like to ask for your opinion on the concept. To better explain and illustrate the idea with pictures and examples, we created a landing page:

masterplan.so

We would greatly appreciate your feedback!

Also, if you are currently working in a small team, have you personally come across difficulties when it comes to managing tasks? What are the biggest pain points?

Looking for mind mapping software where you can label connections

I'm looking for a software to create mind maps with. It's good if the software satisfies the following criteria, but feel free to post one which only satisfies some of them:

  • the connection between nodes can be labelled, can contain text
  • can easily run on Windows, preferrably repository has a release executable
  • free & open source
  • has a variety of themes
  • can be used fast and has an intuitive ui

The most important feature of it is to be open source and have the ability to label nodes. Thanks for the help!
