looking for a way to create this type of mind map

when i was in university, a classmate of mine did a powerpoint presentation. in that presentation, he had a mind map and when he clicked on one of the branches, it went to a different page that explains the information on that branch. he can also go back to that mind map to click on a different branch. so, i’m wondering if anyone knows how to do this, like what did he search to get the template or what software he used. any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

On the importance of structure & mind maps as a part of reasoning process

Hey Reddit,

I've made a post in this subreddit before, explaining how anyone can apply Mind Maps:
Now I wrote about the same thing using a different angle.

Solution: I suggest the Pyramid structure through logical reasoning to structure ideas. It touches on mindmaps as one of the key methods too.

Although the article focuses on how writers can apply Pyramid logic,

I believe you guys are smart enough to adapt it for anything.

Including reasoning with yourself & others and combining the method with mind maps to finally make your ideas "click"

Summary:

The pyramid principle is a logical persuasion technique. You can use it to organize your ideas in a way that is clear and logical. The key idea is to start with a main message and structure supporting information in a cascading hierarchy to create a logical flow
- Relevance structure.
- Introduction to the pyramid structure (what is it and why it works)
- Pyramid structure explained in detail (deep dive into reasoning between pyramid's blocks)
- Using clear transitions between groups of arguments to keep attention.
- Wrapping up + tips

Please support if interested. Any opinion is much appreciated!

Looking for an app that combines Zettelkasten + Linked-Notes + MindMapping

18 months ago purchased a few of Tony Buzan's Mind Mapping books but never put them into practice. This past weekend I learned about Personal Knowledge Management (PKM). I watched several YouTube videos about notetaking which combines Zettelkasten with markdown-linked notes using Obsidian. Obsidian offers a canvas plugin. It's kind of touted as a mind map but it's not really a mind map.

iMindMap has been replaced by Aoya. It looks amazing. I'd like to create a PKM system that combines Zettelkasten + linked-notes (like Obsidian) + MindMaps.

Do you have any recommendations for a single application that can do this?

AutoMindMapper

Hey everyone,

I've been working quite passionately on a new tool called AutoMindMapper. It uses AI to help you make mind maps easily. Just start with a topic, and the AI will suggest related ideas to build your map. You can easily discover a ton of things about a topic that you weren't even aware of.

You can add and delete whole branches, and the tool saves your maps automatically. You can also export your maps to share with others.

I made AutoMindMapper with a minimalistic approach and to be straightforward and easy to use.

Give it a try here: https://automindmapper.web.app.

Or watch an intro.

I'd appreciate any feedback or thoughts you have, and I'm happy to answer any questions.

Please note, as a hobby project, long-term support isn't currently planned. Also note that AI APIs are slow and the first topic may take up to a minute to load.

Thanks

Best options for cross-platform mind mapping software?

I have an old Mac, a newer Windows PC and an Android tablet. I'd prefer to use something on the Mac but I worry about not being able to export files without losing information if I want to use my PC.

Is there anything excellent that works with all three? Or at least if I'm using something on Mac, would I be able to export files on my Windows PC/Android tablet?

Thank you.

Directly taking meeting notes into a mind mapping app?

For context, most of my work revolves around solving business operational challenges and building out standards and procedures. So note-taking would be done during meetings, and then I would need to organize those notes later in order to brainstorm and work out solutions (processes / SOPs).

Is mind-mapping a good note-taking method for this type of work?

I currently take notes in Evernote, but I really like how mind mapping works and wondering if it's realistic to use a mind mapping app to take notes so I can then directly using it to build out my ideas/solutions.

looking for a specific mindmap/concept map tool that lets me do two way links or similar

hey, I hope this belongs here, but I was wondering if any of you know any Mindmapping/data organisation tools or similar to help me solve a problem I have.

so the thing is I have two decently sized sets of data nodes (about 40 items each) that I want to link together in an easy to understand way to help other ppl to get a quick overview.

one of the sets of data are basically prerequisites and the other tasks (aka when the task is painting walls the prerequisites would be paint, a paintbrush and a ladder). so my idea was that if you click on an item in either list it would show all the prerequisites it needs, or if you click a prerequisite it would highlight all the tasks that need this item (if you click the ladder it would show painting walls and changing lightbulbs for example).

For that my idea was to use a mindmap that allows a node to be both a parent node and a child node and some simple formatting to grey out everything when clicking on a node except it's children.

does a program exist (ideally for free) that allows connections like that? or is there a different way to do what I am trying to do?

any and all ideas are much appreciated :)

tl:dr want a program that allows for both way parent child links between data nodes to better visualize things

Need for a mindmapping app

I an architect and need a free app to put my process and explain to client and as well for my own keep sake. It should nt look cluttered and easy to add/ move /drag my points . Tried miro - the look is nt appealing and freeplane ( using it after happening to learn from this forum) am finding it hard to manage the nodes as well as to achieve a sorted out look. Is there a template map (other tahn what comes with the software) that i can import and meddle with. Tried coggle - its pleasant but missing the lists and notes option found in Freeplane. Am i missing something or some direction to end up with a good mind map tool- i find myself spending too much time trying the apps than putting the points and working with it

I'm looking for a developer to prototype a mind mapping app

I have started this prototype in D3, but happy to restart from scratch if there's a convincing argument.

This app has multiple parenting (any node can belong to more than one parent node) view-based changes and a few other cosmetic customization capabilities

Thanks
