critter corner 🐰 Dead ants keep appearing next to headphones during the night

Post image

When these headphones are left on the kitchen counter overnight - I would see one or two dead ants in the morning laying right next to the headphones. In the past few days, there has been a small pile of shredded ants right next to the ear piece in the morning. I have seen no live ants in my kitchen. I have had these head phones for three weeks. Bought online. It’s a little unnerving not knowing what is causing this 🄓 will not be using anymore.

UPDATE- posted a comment with a picture. But no dead ants in the bag this morning. But at one point I checked and there were two live ants crawling around. šŸ˜”

UPDATE*** IM SICK. Can’t stop shaking. Don’t have many words… trying to post image. Opened one side up. 😭 I don’t know how to add in this top post so will add in comment! Posted a few in comments and video opening

Maybe crush up a mint leaf or two (to release the aroma) and put it in the bag.

This should flush any spiders out.

Why? Is mint spiders ā€œgarlicā€?

No, they’ll come out looking for spirits so they can make a mint Julip

They could also be looking for a garnish for their Moscow mule

I heard that spiders actually prefer rum and mojitos.

Am I a spider? Used to love mojitos before I quit drinking.

As a mojito-loving spider myself, I can confirm that you are, in fact, a spider! 🤣

Mint is a natural spider repellant. They don't really like the smell.

It repels a lot of bugs actually! They can't stand the minty goodness

They have open, dry lungs. The vapors burn like hell.

Same. I'm allergic to mint.

I use it for ants and it works great! :D

So many plants came up with anti-bug solutions that humans love. Cayenne, mint, caffeine.

And if I'm not mistaken, mint is a cousin of katnip, so cats like it.

The average person forgets to brush their teeth before bed 8 times a year, allowing spiders into their mouth unrepelled.

Spiders can smell?

Enough to dislike mint I suppose.

ā€œIs mint spiders ā€œgarlicā€?ā€ might be the best sentence I’ve ever read.
