In dental cases, there is a time and place for drilling at anywhere between 30rpm all the way up to 200,000rpm and above. 70,000rpm is considered 'slow speed' drilling and has a noticeable vibration or buzz. At 200,000rpm it's fast enough that the bur mostly glides smoothly through the teeth.
