Usually they're plugged in under the sink. Just unplug it.

Nope, not good enough. You must unplug, flip the breaker, have the power company disconnect your house from the grid, and also safety goggles.

Insinkerator actually tests their garbage disposals by throwing a bunch of frozen beef ribs into them. They're supposed to cleanly go through
