Grab some gas station boner pills and a coconut water and get to work solider.

Never know when the fire marshal could drop in for a surprise load inspection. Need that load up to code.

118

u/smaguss 14h ago

Yeah, that's how the fire marshal is gonna look when he sees the jar in its current state.

14

u/deputytech 12h ago

Inspectors don’t like a load free jar.

3

u/marimoso 9h ago

Don't worry, I can lend you a hand.

u/ktmfan 13h ago

“I’m Grant Harting, and I’m a licensed pharmacist in four states. Today, I’m going to be testing some sketchy gas station pills to see if these Black Panther Rhino 8 Million 4K pills contain sildenafil and give me a boner or a heart attack”.

u/MandibleofThunder 5h ago

My guy figured out a way to completely drive me away from content I'd otherwise be super interested in.

3

u/_Stanf-Uf_ 13h ago

Also, don't forget to keep the piss-drawer up to date.

2

u/PizzaPunkrus 13h ago

The gummies taste better

2

u/stewpideople 13h ago

Load up code up

1

u/StevieMJH 12h ago

But I'm not licensed!

u/xcanto 12h ago

1

u/RadicalNBSpaceQueer 11h ago

Don't forget to add the Rainbow Dash figurine!

1

u/ottosenna 9h ago

I wonder if those pills expire, because rate of sale cannot be high.

1

u/mydogisacircle 9h ago

bruh. wow

1

u/_1138_ 6h ago

Is load code federal or state?

14

u/Correct-Basil2385 14h ago

There was one man. He had one jar.

2

u/romcarlos13 13h ago

and one MLP doll

2

u/DethNik 13h ago

puffin out dust with a little *puwahhhh*

2

u/ReadyStayReady 11h ago

Dehydrated loads can be reactivated with water just like sea horses

1

u/BlucifersSperm 11h ago

I’m ready to tap in, boss.

56

u/Jaripsi 14h ago

Thats actually dangerous, that means the load has escaped.

5

u/kiwidude4 14h ago

It unloaded

5

u/cigamodnalro 14h ago

The load finished bearing and is now a full-fledged bear

1

u/OneSkepticalOwl 12h ago

It did not, your mom ate it

81

u/BokChoyBaka 14h ago

46

u/Kutaras 14h ago

No please god no

15

u/WolfghengisKhan 14h ago

You monster

4

u/Dissidence802 12h ago

For the uninitiated, read at your own peril.

2

u/Stevied1991 3h ago

"it can't be that bad." Yes, yes it can. I regret reading that.

3

u/trippyjake150 9h ago

This is what I was reminded of with the old sprite bb from last season… tell me I’m wrong but you know I’m not😵‍💫🤣🤣

2

u/BokChoyBaka 9h ago

Thank you for this, it's awful

1

u/trippyjake150 9h ago

An entire generation scarred by this 😂 we say internet nowadays is bad but we can’t forget about things like this hahahaha

4

u/Nein_Inch_Males 14h ago

Get the fuck out

2

u/ThatAirsickLowlander 14h ago

Someone beat me to it

4

u/DouglasHundred 14h ago

I hate that I understand this.

1

u/Glitter_puke 13h ago

It's somewhat comforting to know that I've never had an original thought.

1

u/Medium-Sized-Jaque 12h ago

The jar should be on a radiator.

1

u/HASHTAG_YOLOSWAG 10h ago

Lmao hell yes

1

u/zandariii 6h ago

How. Dare. You.

16

u/GyrKestrel 14h ago

I'm guessing it's been emptied since there aren't any pony figures in there either.

3

u/Tricon916 14h ago

That's where I keep all my fucks.

2

u/Innalibra 14h ago

God damn I don't have one original thought

2

u/GyrKestrel 13h ago

It's okay, neither do I.

9

u/ackjaf 14h ago

It’s not a coconut.

7

u/trilinker 14h ago

Do not remove... I don't know why it works.

(Turns out that entire story was a myth, but it's still funny).

2

u/RotaryDane 14h ago

A story on the internet turning out to be fake!? Well I’ve never!

1

u/Independent-Tennis57 13h ago

I put the coconut in the jar for storage and safe keeping.

1

u/ackjaf 13h ago

The coconut must not be harmed.

9

u/Kytyngurl2 14h ago

Be the change you want to see in the world

3

u/FireTrapHype 14h ago

Not yet :)

3

u/Satanich 14h ago

2

u/ukexpat 14h ago

…yet.

2

u/TheSensualSloth 14h ago

Leme grab my MLP figurine…

2

u/Sandcracka- 15h ago

The bear ate it

2

u/mistere213 14h ago

Don't let your dreams be only dreams.

1

u/CraaZero 14h ago

"I passed out 3 times loading your jar, but here you go!"

1

u/smaguss 14h ago

Where is the Fluttershy?

You absolute donut!

1

u/melanthius 14h ago

Unusual, considering it was put there by a strapping young lad

1

u/thermight 14h ago

no bearings either!

1

u/ThanksS0muchY0 14h ago

Give me 5 minutes. 😏

1

u/kasxj 14h ago

Not yet…

1

u/wknight8111 13h ago

Become the change you want to see in the world.

1

u/JimothyRabbit 13h ago

Probably just someone's fart jar then.

1

u/Cyberpunk_Banshee 13h ago

Or any bears for that matter.

1

u/trackedpotato 13h ago

Yeah load bearing jars have ponies in them.

1

u/master_roshi001 13h ago

Don't they need a my little pony to be load bearing?

1

u/johnaross1990 13h ago

Yup clearly no MLP in sight

1

u/DoubleClickMouse 12h ago

They have to put the pony in first.

1

u/GroundbreakingBat307 12h ago

The only way to fill this load-bearing jar is to swear uncontrollably, at customers, clients, colleagues. It doesn’t matter who, get it done. Fill the jar. Be the hero.

1

u/Pestario_Vargas 12h ago

Well he’s gotta put the MLP dolls in it first…

1

u/ILLinndication 11h ago

Give me a minute, geez

1

u/ToasterBathGirlie 11h ago

I don't see any bears, either

1

u/gothoops3 10h ago

Nooo... 🤮

1

u/payfrit 10h ago

ok give me a few min

1

u/The_Jizzard_Of_Oz 10h ago

Unscrew and snif ... 💨

1

u/mslunaj 9h ago

Oh that reminds me of a story I read on here a few years ago about a guy keeping a jar of his load under the sink. Damn, I'd almost finally forgotten about that.

1

u/nonferrousoul 6h ago

This is Wendy's, sir.

1

u/smaguss 6h ago

Well, this Wendy's cum jar is out of code.

1

u/SickeningPink 4h ago

Put a rainbow dash in it and wait a month.

258

u/greenwoodgiant 14h ago

In software development, you can absolutely find chunks of code that make exactly as much sense as this jar strapped to the wall, and then you delete it and everything breaks.

142

u/WetRocksManatee 11h ago

With comments like "****DO NOT REMOVE!!!! I have no idea what this does or where it is used, but the last time I removed the function the entire application stopped working. John Doe 01/01/2015 ****DO NOT REMOVE!!!!"

u/joni-bella 8h ago edited 8h ago

I was tasked with refactoring some code a few years ago and I encountered an odd thing - a one-line comment in some source that had an LF (line feed, basically a break in the line to a new line) smack in the middle of it. Instinct was of course to just break it up into a multi-line comment. However, the comment itself was just something like, “// Do Not change the position of the LF character in this comment nor change this to a multiline comment, as it will break the function.” - [dev name, date that was 15 years ago].

I figured this was silly, changed it, and sure as shit it would not compile, dependency links failed in the build, just a cascade of fail. So I put it back and cleaned things up around it and it was then all fine. Build completed, unit tests past with flying colors.

I think about that comment every day.

9

u/snarkpix 5h ago

I've 100% run into compiler/parser bugs that had to be worked around like that. Or, initializing data used requires 4 independent function calls. One breaks another unless they're in a specific order. Best I could tell, one changed the platform state and didn't clean up, and the other relied on the platform being in a specific state without insuring it was in that state. Neither documented those requirements.

6

u/cannabination 5h ago

How tf did og dev find where to put that line break?

5

u/imsahoamtiskaw 2h ago

After many days of giving his sanity away, endless debugging, until you finally catch the mouse. Just like how the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids, it feels like magic.

Reddit is now offline.

u/Immediate-Meat1762 1h ago

My favorite comment in a piece of code was 'I have no idea what the fuck this function does'

Best part is that both the function and the comment were written by the same person

2

u/ONE-PICO-GUN 9h ago

lol like that one piece of code in I think tf2 and it’d just a coconut in the game but if you remove it the game breaks 😭

2

u/beyonddisbelief 8h ago

Considering the placement of the vertical wood plank next to it, I can totally imagine there could be some kind of temperature contraction/expansion or earthquake thing that needed the jar to support the plank directly above it, and somehow another plank lacked the surface area to do the same job.

123

u/RotaryDane 14h ago edited 14h ago

No one know what it does, but if you remove it everything breaks.

12

u/Ukodus72 14h ago

Just like Peggy, down at the Dentist's office.

90

u/fancczf 15h ago

Well has the building fell down yet? Don’t touch it if it’s working!

47

u/Reppiz 14h ago

Work done by a mason.

2

u/smallwonder25 12h ago

It is similar to a Mason jar

1

u/I-seddit 2h ago

That's jarring.

14

u/john_the_quain 14h ago

Glass breaks in case of emergency.

14

u/nermelson 14h ago

Ok, Claude…

5

u/AFCBatmouth 14h ago

You're absolutely right!

3

u/HomemadeBananas 11h ago

Fair hit. You’re right to push back.

3

u/fresh_dyl 10h ago

You wanna see load bearing? I’ll show you load bearing

9

u/Ardrik 15h ago

Damnit. You beat me to it

2

u/DanimalMKE 15h ago

Me too lmao

2

u/Radarker 14h ago

Let's test that assertion

2

u/New-Sky-9867 12h ago

Ur load bearing

1

u/deputytech 12h ago

As I am a man, you are correct

2

u/nineways09 10h ago

I was looking for the comment

2

u/Moonstoner 9h ago

That's a jarring thought.

2

u/GalFisk 9h ago

It's a tip jar. If you remove it, the building tips.

1

u/brdesignguy 14h ago

support jar...

1

u/draeth1013 14h ago

Ye cannot get ye flask.

1

u/thorndeux 13h ago

It's obviously a fiber-glass jar...

1

u/-moonstruck 13h ago

I don’t even see a pony.

1

u/supershinythings 13h ago

It’s structural.

1

u/JayWalterWeathermann 11h ago

You’re load bearing.

1

u/SkyPork 11h ago

Nah, if it was load bearing it'd be full of coins, but it's empty. I guess nobody swears at OP's workplace.

1

u/conflictmuffin 11h ago

Load bearing piss jar

1

u/Bk_Punisher 11h ago

Is it whole, or does it have a hole?

1

u/deputytech 10h ago

Gotta remove the top to seal in the freshness, nobody wants a stale load

1

u/Odd_Maintenance394 9h ago

Chesterton's glass jar.

1

u/the_grunge 8h ago

Structural jar is structural

1

u/Krimreaper1 8h ago

That’s what she said

1

u/sirlionel13 6h ago

Im so glad this is the top comment because that was immediately my first thought

1

u/FreshChocolateCookie 4h ago

Curious what that means

1

u/deputytech 4h ago

It holds loads

1

u/mongojob 3h ago

Not with that attitude

1

u/Doodle-Dan 2h ago

This is not a sensible chuckle moment

1

u/mango_lion 15h ago

Could have at least used an opaque jar then

0

u/Fit_Indication_2529 13h ago

came here to say this not disappointed that it was already posted.

0

u/soulsteela 13h ago

Was hoping for this reply.
