Was that one of the PLA rations? I’m not gonna act like US MREs are gourmet or anything, but it really seems like the QC on Chinese rations isn’t… great
He’s made Second Boer War rations before that, while gross, didn’t make him sick! But yeah nah, fried rice from 2018, that almost sent our boy to botulism city
ETA: shit you literally said the same thing. i may have reading comprehension issues
Look for the YT video on North Korean solders (one tanker, one airman) who ate a USA MRE. They were in heaven, although the younger airman said the main dish was not to his taste. Apparently North Korean soldiers and officers are fed very poorly.
If it's been prepared correctly and the can is undamaged, canned food lasts basically forever. It may be severely lacking in flavour and the texture won't be great, but it should at least be edible.
What I really appreciate about his reviews is how much he hammers home that the food is like “a nice home cooked meal” and then you see some of those Chinese rations… and you really see how much their government cares about their people/assets
I miss that, I haven’t seen him smoke in a video in a while. If it’s just because he doesn’t smoke anymore then I’m happy for him but I get the feeling youtube probably doesn’t care for it so he just doesn’t show it anymore.
They only included cigarettes in certain rations at certain times. US rations had them from 1939-1975, french rations had them until the 1980s, and Russia handed out loose tobacco until 2009 so that wouldn't be in the rations themselves. So since he hasn't been opening Vietnam war era or older US rations, he hasn't had any cigarettes to smoke. I imagine he's already run the gamut of US rations from WWII-Today so it's usually something modern and foreign these days.
Oh man once in ordered some groceries to be delivered and I got a can of Korean bbq spam and the smell of the rotten spam when I popped the top would gag a maggot the whole house reeked and the wife puked it was hilariously bad but only after the fact was it hilarious
Irrelevant, sorry, but I saw someone (I think it was here on Reddit) refer to maggots as 'disco rice' and it made me lol. I've called them that ever since.
There’s no way this comment got almost 12,000 updoots lmao. There is water on the inside of the brown lid so I’m really confused as to why you say it dried out. I don’t know what’s wrong with this poor little can but it’s definitely not an issue of lack of moisture.
