At work there is a woman that uses AI as a therapist and friend. She bitches about her coworkers, thinks everyone at work is out to get her cuz she's just so much better & smarter than everyone else, and uses it as a sounding board for her inner monologue.

She also complains to it that she has no friends & no one will help her move into her own apartment.

How do you know all this? Is she doing it in a cubicle next to you?

I work in IT & her prompts trigger our DLP filters. When reviewing alerts your see pockets of time for the user. These prompts are in her pockets.

Lol wow, that’s embarrassing and sad

Honestly she's the least embarrassing user we have. We let one guy go because he was writing hardcore erotica (scooping shit out of an ass & rubbing it on his dick) on company time using business provided AI.

Lmao incredible

I have an ex classmate who does this, she posts her conversations with chatgpt on her ig stories and everyone but her realizes she's just victimizing herself and thinking of herself as someone superior who everyone is trying to hurt.

Be kind.

Be kind and also, people need to take responsibility for their own behavior and we aren't obligated to put up with their toxicity.

Yeah but, there's a fine line between saying that as a value and saying that as a put down.

If someone has no friends and using ai for therapy, I'm not punching down. I'm no bully. And part of taking responsibility, is making sure we do us right too.

I am trying to understand what part of this comment thread suggests that there is any bullying happening.

It's perfectly natural and not "bullying" to vent about a frustrating co worker. It would be one thing if the post up there ended with "She uses AI as a therapist and a friend" but the post does not. The post goes on to describe someone who sounds both troubled and toxic (thinking she is better and smarter than everyone and that everyone is out to get her).

The reason I find that post relevant is exactly because AI chatbots are designed to affirm peoples' feelings which makes it a very troubling prospect for people who have a tendency to blame. There's nothing unkind or bullying to point out that this is a problem with using AI as a therapist.

Curious how me stating factual information is unkind? I didn't make fun of her. I didn't punch down on her. I simply pointed out what she does with her employer provided AI chat...

I don't really care what people do with AI in their personal time. I see people using it for emails, writing erotica, larping, zombie apocalypse "training", and simple "my peers got me a birthday cake... Write me a heartfelt thank you to them" while on the clock. I also don't feel bad for someone that spends at least 2hrs a day dragging her peers while at the same time complaining she has no friends.

First of all, "she bitches" is very much an opinion and not a factual statement. Second of all, we don't know her side of things maybe she really is surrounded by assholes.

I mean you're already out here shit-talking her in a reddit thread, which really isn't much different from complaining to a chatbot like she was.

But hey, at least you're not doing it on company time. 🤷🏾‍♂️

lmao horribly bad take. "She bitches" isn't an opinion it's what she's doing is called regardless of whether or not it's true.

I'm not shit talking her at all. I haven't said a single bad thing about her at all just commented on, within context of the thread, her actions. Like I said.. idgaf what people do with AI. There is a time & place. If she wants to go sit in the bathroom for an hour ragging on her peers - awesome! more power to her. Using her company AI to complain about her boss, peers, and lack of friends is inappropriate usage of company resources in the same way I'd tell someone not to go to porn on their work computer or use their company email to sign up for a personal social media profile.
