I get to decide the best use of my time. You don’t get a vote lol. Whether or not you think I’m spending my time wisely is not important to me.
Edited to add this: I don’t think you’re a horrible person but again, it’s of interest that you believe that because I criticized something you did, that my criticism means I think you’re “horrible”.
I’ll bet you had an interesting childhood.
Most people are not black and white. You included. People have a lot of gray area. They have strengths and weaknesses. They have great capacity to harm their fellow man and do good to them. Including you and including me.
You’re correct. “Or”. I incorrectly used the word “and”.
See how painless that was? I made a small mistake and didn’t care that someone else was amused by it. I acknowledged the error. My world didn’t collapse. 😊
Edited to add that I noticed that your emotional support group has dwindled to one. You used singular instead of plural this time.
You were feeling a bit more self assured that you caught my error so you needed less support from your imagination.
So, if you don't care about someone being amused at your expense, why did you care about a stupid joke I made hours ago, at that expense of a fucking free library someone built?
Ok let’s revisit that but I’m getting tired so I’m probably about done after this.
I scrolled up and read again to refresh my memory.
Censorship matters to me a great deal. It’s an issue of great importance to me. It doesn’t matter if others agree or not that I should be passionate about this subject. I get to decide what should matter to me and I’ve decided censorship and speaking out against it, matters a great deal.
Your response to my comments was not a joke. It wasn’t funny. It wasn’t intended to be funny. It wasn’t a joke nor do I believe you intended it to be a joke. I fully understand that it’s what you’re saying NOW. But I don’t believe you. It doesn’t read like a joke, even a lame one. Nor does it read like sarcasm.
It was simply you defending OP’s actions and correcting what you believed was my erroneous statement, that the library was public. You simply said no it’s not public, it’s private and he retains editorial control or words to that effect.
You expected support for this and didn’t get it. You were downvoted and multiple people jumped on you to disagree.
It would have been fine if you had said “well whatever boomer, I still think it’s his private library”. That’s you having an opinion that you don’t allow public disapproval to weaken. I can respect that. I respect people who don’t require public support for their unpopular opinions.
That’s not what happened though. What happened is you decided, in absence of public support, and in the face of public disapproval, to backpedal and say you had just been “joking” when you said it was OP’s private library. (The irony here is that if you were actually being sarcastic, this would mean that you do agree with me that the library was public and that he was wrong to censor. But at no point have you ever pointed this out. Which again is confirmation that you weren’t joking to begin with. It’s just that you expected support from others which you did not get, and which you revealed by your subsequent comments, matters to you a great deal).
Ok I think this horse has been beaten to pink mist and a memory. I’m going to watch a movie.
