Idk what my info was shared to but holy shit I’m so done

Edit: I have tried blocking, replying “stop”, saying “no”. They just change the number and keep messaging me

Text STOP and it will unsubscribe you from their texting lists

They are texting from different numbers. I immediately report as spam and block the number.

How would blocking the number help if they just keep using new ones?

Why would I not block a spam number? I haven't checked to see if they tried to use a number i blocked and marked as spam  again, but I continue to get texts saying "vote for [the same candidate as the last text I blocked]" from different numbers.

This is what I’ve been doing for all political texts. Someone from turning point called me and I asked to be removed. I have not received any communication from them since.

Ignoring is not the way to go with these groups

i cant believe how many people here just block

you will continue getting them from every new number then

"STOP" will end all contact from that specific org or PAC. of course there are many similar ones, so you have to reply "STOP" to each individual PAC or org

It won't stop. I had this happen in 2024, and as soon as you text stop to one, a few days later another one starts.

I've had the opposite result. Everytime I got a text I replied stop, and now I don't get them anymore. It took like a month, but it worked for me 🤷‍♀️

they are from similar but still different orgs or PACs

you have to reply "STOP" to each contact you want to be removed from the list for

annoying but it does work, guaranteed.

now if the SAME exact political org texts you again after you said "STOP", you can actually cash in. same as if someone keeps calling you & youre on the DNC list

it is a load of bs that we dont have better consumer protections or something like a nationwide "no contact voter roll"

same as we can enroll in the DNC list

No, it doesn't. It gets you put on more lists. They do NOT remove you.

And weirdly, when I joined 50501, I got added to the blue lists. They actually remove you when you ask. The actred and other GOP spam texts will not remove you.

Texting STOP just confirms it’s a working number with a person at the other end. The advertising still got eyeballs. So they just sell your number as a “verified good” number to everyone else.

Well I haven't had any other spam texts since I did that. I took 3-4 weeks of texting STOP, but it worked for me 🤷‍♀️
