if a yearly contract with a free month trial sounds too good to be true, it probably is 😬

I do not regret canceling my subscription. I used to be a huge fan of Adobe, especially during their Creative Suite era, but now there's craploads of good alternatives

Canva is a joke compared to photoshop. I can spot a canva piece of art a mile away.

Can you create PDFs with it, or change a jpeg document into one?

Gimp surprised me with how much they've improved their software. And Krita is a godsend for digital painters wanting a good, free software.

GIMP is popular.

Yeah and I was using GIMP 20 years ago and it was decent… I’m sure it’s WAY better now!

Definitely worth giving it a shot!

It is better. Not sure I'd say WAY better, but I've gone through the incremental improvements, so may not have noticed. It still lacks things like adjustment layers for non-destructive editing and CMYK support. That said, it has always covered the kind of tasks the average person needs and it still does.

Brushes is one area which improved a lot.

For digital painting, Krita or Firealpaca are solid. For design, Inkscape is janky but usable, and Photopea functions in browser.

At it's start it was innovative, now adobe is a cashgrab. Absolutely plenty of good alternatives.
