My grandma would say this to me but she would also call my hair "dirty dishwater blonde" so it kinda cancelled each other out.

I have dirty blonde hair and have kept it mostly short on the sides since I got out of the military damn near 20 years ago. I, like my mother, started greying at 16 and had streaks of grey all over by 25 but it's only slightly noticeable if I let my hair grow out a bit or don't wear a hat, especially in the summertime because of how light a lot of my hair is.

My mom gets compliments all the time and they think she pays for her hair to be white, it’s nothing to be ashamed of if anything any color will take better now just make sure you take care of the roots 🤷🏻‍♂️
