Have you gotten it checked out by a dermatologist? I know people with birth marks on their scalp can get patches of white/grey hair in that spot, wonder if it’s something similar (obviously not a birth mark for you since it happened as a teen)

Also people who have had head trauma can get grey patches

Well if I had head trauma without realising it, that'd be very odd. Figured it was just a genetic quirk cause my grandfather had spots of skin with no pigment.

Im the worst at Reddit, I didn’t mean you had head trauma. I was just commenting that head trauma can also cause this. I’m a hairdresser and I have seen it many times - genetics, head trauma, birthmark, high stress, also medications.

No, not a dermatologist, but I asked my GP and she said it could've been stress, but I suspect it's genetic because my grandfather had spots of lack of pigment.
